History Of The Ravynos

It is important to remember that I can only guess as to a lot of the Information I'm about to give. However my studies of ancient text and Raven himself leads me to believe a lot of what I'm about to present as fact or very close to fact. The Demonic Vampire (Ravynos) not to be confused with the standard vampire clan of (Ravenos) is a race of Demons that dwell on the 5th level of hell. This powerful race was created when a Foundation Vampire was said to be seduced by a Greater Succubus the offspring of this affair, a female was the first true Demonic Vampire. Going by the name Ravyn she was exiled to the mortal realm not being recognized by having a rightful place in hell. There Ravyn lived amongst standard vampires and humans. Her powers unmatched by any vampire she only suffered a few of their weaknesses ancient texts state all attempts to slay this being horribly failed most claiming she was indestructible. Despite her great power however she was never a true menace to the mortal realm she protected the vampires that had become her family from would be Slayers only once taking the fight to the mortals devastating an entire settlement leaving only those that were able to escape to tell the tail and murdering countless others. Ravyns goal was never conquest of the mortal realm however what she truly desired was her rightful place in hell. Ravyn was extremely attractive and used it to her advantage, during the span of a few 100 years she mated many times with both vampire and human alike trying to establish her own race. Her mating with humans had almost no effect or so the thought at the time, however her offspring from various vampires had much better results but still not the results she desired. What she had ended up creating was the lesser Ravynos. These Demonic Vampires shared many of the vampire weaknesses not shared by their mother. Sunlight would destroy them and they could only seem to survive on the blood of other vampires, this was combined with a lack of intelligence. However more centuries passed and Ravyns efforts became realized. The greater Ravynos was created through her mating with humans. However a Ravynos would only appear in a random generation, why this is no one knows for sure. Not only does a Ravynos only appear in random generations but they are born human as well. The human eventually becomes a Hybrid with the demon within awakening. Eventually the demon takes over and merges with the human to create the true Ravynos. In hybrid form or true form these Demonic Vampires where said to be much like the founder of their race, Undefeatable.

With a fair number of Greater Ravynos and a legion of lesser Ravynos and vampires Ravyn declared war on hell. This war was a long and bloody war that saw the Ravynos take over the fifth level of hell however when they tried to march deeper into hell their weakness was found. In one battle the Ravynos numbers where cut in half by a tribe of demons that where armed with weapons forged by a strange metal only found in the depths of hell. The advance of the Ravynos was stopped. Word of this weakness traveled fast through the depths of hell and the Ravynos where forced to abandon most of their territory fortifying their position on the fifth level. This did not come without its price the, the standard vampires seeing that there allies where truly not invincible started to defect and make it back to the mortal realm only to be fed on by the lesser Ravynos, this would lead to the dislike and distrust between the two creatures. The fifth level despite all of this remained in the rule of the Ravynos and finally the Devil himself deemed them rightful rulers of the fifth layer in exchange for having the attractive Ravyn in his bed when he wished it. For the first time Ravyn was faced with total defeat and knew she had no other choice. She had what she wanted and that was her rightful place in hell. From this time to the present day the Ravynos have flourished, there numbers are great although few walk on the mortal realm.

Lesser Ravynos

The Lesser Ravynos are the product of either Ravyn herself or a Greater Ravynos mating with a common vampire or a human. This is also the result of a human being turned by a Ravynos. Lesser Ravynos have average intelligence on par with most mortals. They have superhuman strength and speed that may in some cases surpass a common vampire of the same age. They have a taste for not only mortal blood but that of vampires as well. Their weaknesses include those of the common vampire as well. Sunlight will kill them as well as being staked in the heart or decapitation by a highly blessed blade or with a metal found only in hell. Holy water causes horrible burns that heal at an extremely slow rate if at all prolonged submersion will cause death. Lesser Ravynos have no reflection, blessed crosses will stop them from advancing and they will not enter a private dwelling unless invited by the actual resident.

Hybrid Ravynos

It is important to note that no one can be turned into a hybrid or Greater Ravynos they are only born. It is hard to keep track of which family bloodlines contain the blood of the Ravynos because they only turn up in random generations usually quite far apart. They hybrid is the first stage to becoming a Greater Ravynos. The Hybrid form is that of a human (host) and a demon (Ravynos) sharing the same body. The demon remains mostly dormant allowing its host to reach its prime while protecting it from serious illness and death. It is documented that the demon can and will awaken early to protect its host if need be. The demon cannot be removed because both sides need each other to survive. Once the human body reaches its prime the demon awakens giving its host new powers beyond those of their formal mortal existence. However there is a draw back in that it takes a period of time for both beings to become one, during this time the Hybrid Ravenos can become unstable their actions becoming unpredictable as the Demon and the Human fight for control of the body. This battle can have a series of effects on the hybrid based on which being is in more control. See Hybrid Chart. A Hybrids strengths and weaknesses vary based on which being is in more control they have supernatural speed and strength. They survive on the blood of mortals most will not feed on other vampires or demons. They have average to above average intelligence. They cannot be destroyed by sunlight although it can irritate them. The only way to kill a Ravynos in this form is by decapitation or a stake in the heart using a metal that is found in hell. Holy water causes serious burns that will regenerate over time however prolonged exposure can be fatal. A Hybrid Ravynos may or may not have a reflection in a mirror and a holy symbol that is blessed by someone with high power may hold one at bay. A Ravynos cannot enter a private dwelling with out permission of the actual resident. It is rumored that the Ravynos may have found a way to force the evolution into a Greater Ravynos skipping the possible many centuries spent as a Hybrid. This of course is reserved for those that wish to serve the Ravyn and her clan in the depths of hell.

Greater Ravynos

The Greater Ravynos is final form after the human host and demon become one being, which is that of the Greater Ravynos (Demonic Vampire). This creature should not be confused with a vampire as it is first and foremost a demon. This creature retains the emotions of a human combined with the power of the Ravynos. The actions of this creature are now based on the being itself rather then the whims created by the conflict within during the Hybrid period. The Ravynos feeds on the blood of youthful mortals and even other demons, despite myth these creatures do not feed on other vampires or any other form of undead. The greater Ravynos have supernatural strength and speed and the ability to regenerate their wounds. They are not effected by sunlight, however as with the other Ravynos races they can be killed by decapitation or a stake in the heart using a metal that is found in hell. Holy water will cause burns however prolonged exposure despite being extremely painful will not kill this creature. A holy symbol will slow an advance but not ultimately stop it this creature however they will not enter a place of worship. A greater Ravynos will not enter a private dwelling with out permission by the actual resident.

History Of Raven

The eldest of his generation in the death clan Raven was born in the year 1105 A.D., he was born like all Greater Ravynos human. At the time of his birth it was unknown that the Death families blood line had Ravynos blood in it Raven being born human was a shock to his family however they still cared for Raven and treated him well throughout his childhood. At the age of 15, Raven left his family and set out on his own to see the world. His journey took him from Europe to Asia where he finally settled down in Japan. While in Japan Raven became fascinated by the samurai and set out to become one. Being an outsider Ravens quest to become a samurai was extremely difficult but he eventually succeeded being a quick study with oriental blades especially the katana and the fact his family was extremely wealthy. Raven served his clan for the next 10 or so years become a general samurai who lead his clan into many victorious battles however eventually 3 rival clans united and launched an attack that would totally wipe out the clan that Raven served. Raven himself had fallen suffering a mortal wound. The demon inside however was not going to allow its host to die for it would die too after this battle Raven entered his Hybrid period his wounds would regenerate. Fueled by his new powers and a thirst for revenge Raven walked into the main stronghold of his enemy who where starting to suffer from dissension within their own alliance Raven walked into the city and started to kill everyone that was in his sight he would fall many times only to rise once more and continue his rampage. Before leaving he burned the city to the ground. However Raven did not succeed in leaving no survivors rumors quickly started to run all over Japan that Ravens ghost was taking revenge on the world and feeding on the life of the living. As with all rumors they usually strayed far from fact, some claimed Ravens soul would not be allowed to rest because he was a foreigner and was not suited to be a samurai, others claimed it was due to the hideous way he was executed at the hands of his enemy. Although they all disagreed on why Raven became the way he did they all agreed he needed to be destroyed and a huge bounty was placed on his head attracting would be demon, ghost and vampire slayers from all across the world it also attracted the attention of Damien Death who had been in the region due to business of his own. A group of Ravynos where also dispatched to the mortal realm to take Raven back to hell where he could reach his true potential and serve the Ravynos Clan. Damien started to hear all the rumors and realized that these people where talking about his son. Damien was not shocked by this he knew there had to be more to his son then what met the eye. Eventually he would find Raven using his own supernatural abilities before would be slayers and forced Raven to leave the country with him. This left the people in Japan baffled but the legend was written that once Raven took his revenge he was granted access to the afterlife being nothing more then a revenant of sorts.

The violent way in which Raven was forced into his hybrid form caused a great deal of inner turmoil, more then what the average Ravynos faces. His demon was awoken in the heat of battle thus had an above average desire for blood, a truly evil presence. His human side a warrior a man of honor and values who was confused by what was happening to him. This bitter feud between the beings inside Raven would cause him to lose control of himself with one side dominating the other or neither side having any control at all. Over the next 200 years Raven would battle the worst inner battles of his entire life. It was near the end of this period I had the pleasure of meeting the young Ravynos I had an idea of what he truly was but had never had the opportunity to actually see a Greater Ravynos with my own eyes and was totally unaware of the Hybrid stage. I had hoped to satisfy my own ambitions by using Raven and he hoped to gain control of himself through me as it turned out we became close friends and wound up helping each other. I learned a great deal as documented here about the Ravynos race as well as Raven in return I helped him gain a measure of control over his conflicting beings within as well as training the black arts. Raven lived in the shadows for a great period of time studying and training. He refused to rejoin humanity in fear of losing control and doing anything he would regret. He did however remain in contact with his family. Raven also didn't want to be found by his fellow Ravynos he had no love for the demon within and was not going to hand his soul over to it. The truth we all didn't know at the time was that the Ravynos would not force Raven to remain in hell and would have actually helped in more then I could have ever dreamed of doing through the almost 900 years Raven spent as a Hybrid.

However during this time a grave mistake was made, Raven could not bare the demon with in him and tried to return the demon to its dormant state. Not realizing the effect this could have on Raven and wanting to see the results with my own eyes I agreed to help him. We succeeded, but at a cost we would not see until it was far to late. Satisfied with the idea that his demon was dormant Raven entered the world of Creature Wrestling with his father. During this time he would meet the woman he would come to love as well as many great adversaries something being a warrior he craved for some time. However his time of living as a mortal would come to an end as a vampire tried to turn Raven, this awoke the demon with in and caused such a violent reaction that Raven totally lost control of the demon within which was hungry from his years or artificially induced hibernation Ravens thirst for blood was unbearable. Raven fought the hunger as long as he could with the help of the Slayer and her friends and even those of rivals however the treatment did not work because in reality they thought they were trying to cure vampirism when in fact it was something far different. However an artifact helped keep his demon in check was given to Raven that helped his human side remain in control. This however only made the demon within and more angry. Overtime Raven would end up marrying Devilz Angel and living a happy life however that all ended when Ravens human body was mortally wounded at the hands of the Hellwalkers and Dalkiel and the demon woke once more this time more powerful then it had ever been, there was no conflict. Raven could not control the hunger this time and the demon took control. Raven went on a violent rampage as the Demon lashed out at everything Raven held dear most importantly his wife Devilz Angel. It was upon observing this I realized the error in my ways as Raven was now fighting a full scale war within as opposed to being closer to joining and putting Raven finally at peace ending the inner turmoil that this conflict was causing him. However regretfully I did not intervene following my code to my order to remain neutral. From this time forward Raven would have to deal with this conflict accepting what he was a Hybrid. The demon finally calming would alter Raven, he became darker and more cold once more reverting to a loner who chose to walk alone.

Raven would eventually join the federation known as CCW, where his dark ways would only become darker, this would ultimately cost Raven is marriage and ties to most of his family who where always shaky at best. Seeing Raven becoming more detached from humanity almost void of emotion I decided it was finally time to intervene, my efforts to help Raven would be short lived, as Raven would be killed at the hands of UndeadEnigma. During this time I made a sacrifice and using my most powerful magic's brought Raven back to the land of the living. This however cost me my position in my order although it did not stop my studies. Upon his return from the dead Raven was more jaded then ever before and there was even a period where I decided there was nothing I could do for him and simply watched. More recently Devilz Angel divorced Raven. This caused something to happen to Raven within, he started to display more of the traits he did when I first met him almost as if the demon was satisfied with the punishment he had trust upon Raven and started to loosen its grasp. Again I reclaimed my ties with Raven wondering if he would finally reach his destiny and become a Greater Ravenos after almost 900 years of his inner battles in the Hybrid state. This was not to be as soon as I thought it would be however. Raven was left in his own self pity over the recent events in his life and how he has lost so much that he held dear giving into the desires for power and wealth of the demon however he was on the path.

Weaknesses:
Sunlight - Raven is totally immune to sunlight, although if he can avoid it he will stay out of it as it makes him uncomfortable.
Crosses and other Holy Symbols - Must be blessed, depending on the power of the being responcible for the blessing the effects will only slow Raven from advancing but ultimatly not stop him.
Holy Water - Will cause burns however prolonged exposure despite being extremely painful will not kill Raven
Mirror - Raven has a reflection.
Private Dwelling - Raven cannot enter a private dwelling with out permission of the person who resides there. (This means the actual home of someone, not their locker room.)
Stake In The Heart/Decapitation - There is a metal found only in hell that will kill Raven if he is staked in the heart or decapitated with it (This metal was used to make the spikes in the tower of terror match where UndeadEnigma killed Raven)
