As Charon sat there staring round the room, her gaze fell on Brandons collection of canes and suddenly a light went on I her head. Brandons fractured personality meant that which ever mind had hidden the canes would be the only one who would be able to tell her and obviously that mind didn't want to say. She got up and walked over to them and started to look through them. She picked one up and it almost resonated when she touched it, Brandon also suddenly sprinted back into the room in a state of agitation.

"Don't touch that!"

Charon turned to him and looked quizzically at him.

"Why?"

Brandon seemed to be struggling and hopped from foot to foot. He almost screamed his reply.

"Because it's evil! Don't touch it please?!"

Charon knew she was holding the staff of Mortis, she could feel the evil emanating from it, Brandon didn't need to tell her it was evil. She twirled it round a couple of times.

"Brandon, I'm taking this, I need it, I can't tell you why but trust me I have no intention of using it. It was a stroke of genius disguising it as one of your canes mate."

She turned to leave but Brandon blocked her exit.

"No, it's safe here!"

Charon took a deep breath.

"It's not safe anywhere my friend. I'm taking it so stand aside and let me pass."

She glared at him until he reluctantly stood aside and let her leave.
