Another Start

His lower back always had a stiffness to it in the mornings when he first woke up and it sometimes returned throughout the day too. It had been that way ever since he was stabbed there. Stretching usually helped alleviate the stiffness, fortunately. According to the doctors, it had truly been a miracle that he hadn't ended up with something much worse, such as paralysis or death.
That had been a few years ago though. This was now. The stiffness was just another part of him, much like his skills with most weapons known to man. Guns, blades, explosives, it didn't matter. If you handed him one, odds were that he'd know how to use it and if he didn't, he was a quick learner. His skills were a big reason why the company had been interested in using him for some very dark and secretive work, mostly assassinations. That hospital he'd been taken to that night a few years ago hadn't been any ordinary hospital. It turned out to be as top secret as his job now was. Apparently the company had been keeping their eye on him long before he'd been stabbed.
He was very eager for that kind of work, of course, having always been interested in that kind of work. Shooting military generals from a cliff with a sniper rifle. Stabbing politicians with a dagger and blending into the crowd before anyone could even realize what happened. Blowing up drug dealers right out of their fancy cars with C4. The more jobs he took, the bigger his bank account became. One might not realize that though due to his modest living conditions. His little apartment and his sport bike, both of which he'd had long before getting involved with the company. Both of which had served their purpose well over the years and he'd never felt the need to replace them.
Despite all of that, he couldn't help but feel a little surprised as he read the latest message related to his work. One name stuck out to him in particular: 'Creature Wrestling'. He hadn't heard of or thought about that place in a long time. Of course, in his time there, he'd been another name, almost a completely other person. 'Blood Thunder'. Was it some kind of sign? A sign that it was time for him to return? No, it was just another job and nothing more. Another paycheck. CW had certainly never paid him as much as his current employer did. As they say, highest bidder wins.
