Revelations

A sinister laugh echoes through the mansion of Gojinn. He sits at home, alone for now. Allyson, his girlfriend, James, his best friend and loyal butler, and Kevin, the abandoned teenager he took in, were all off collecting their belongings from the hideout they stayed in over the last several months. What they didn’t know, was what Gojinn was keeping in the mansion, locked away to rest, and build strength.

Ahh….won’t they all be surprised.

He walked into the secret basement he’d built, and chanted a spell, breaking the magical field around the basement, that made sure no one could sense the evil presence within captivity, and also assured Gojinn his powers would remain in check, making sure he would never get so powerful, that he would break free and destroy everyone. He wasn’t a puppet, nor a prisoner, but he would feel like one, with his memories, his hatred for Gojinn, and his mental link to…‘someone’.

Gojinn stepped into the basement, and lit the torches, making sure only a few were lit, so as not to hurt the eyes of his new friend. He walked slowly up to him, and stood in front. The figure stood on a raised platform in a water tank, submerged with breathing equipment, and medical tubing to feed and nourish him. The tank was almost entirely dark, save one light at the bottom, which was so dim, it barely lit anything.

The figure knew Gojinn was there, and raised it’s head, slamming it’s palms to the glass in confusion, in anger.

It’s not what you think.

Suddenly Gojinn’s head started throbbing, and he fell to his knees, as images and sound poured in, playing like a movie in his brain. He screamed in agony, as he dug his fingers against his skull, and began clawing at himself, trying to make the pain go away, but it wouldn’t. He glanced up at the figure, whose eyes began glowing white, piercing the very soul of his keeper.

Gojinn touched the glass gently, and began using his telekinesis to vibrate the water, and the figure within the water, but that proved to be a poor idea, as the images kept coming, and the figure, slammed it’s hands harder on the glass, opening it’s eyes wider, until Gojinn collapsed against the cement floor, and hit his head, knocking himself unconscious. The spell on the basement repaired itself, sealing them both in there, and slamming shut the entrance to the area. No one would know where he was for the moment.

The eyes of the figure dimmed, and then, it suddenly grew tired, and fainted in the water. Its body went limp, and simply floated there now, it’s arms hanging loosely, as it’s legs and head did too.

Gojinn tossed and turned on the floor, moaning in pain, as his brain was wracked with these memories that were not his own, nor could he claim them to anyone else. A name would always go to be mentioned, and then the memory would pass on, before anyone spoke it.

Finally, Gojinn found himself standing in the memory. He stood, and watched himself standing on a hillside, with thousands of children. They began chanting cryptic words, and suddenly a lightning bolt blasted right through him! He realized he was just a “ghost” in this memory, but the bolt struck a coffin! It flung open, and from it crawled the Unholy One!

Gojinn looked on, as he saw himself screaming at him, and Spade screaming at Arcane, threatening to kill him right there. Gojinn tried to move further, but some force stopped him. The children suddenly turned to him though.

Children: You do not belong here….leave this place.

What’s happening?! Is that the REAL DarkSpade?!

It is.

So the man I have….is….

Exactly what you thought, and exactly what you feared.

With death, comes the birth of life.

But those that die do not always stay dead. This disturbs the delicate balance of life and death.

But who is he then?

Before Gojinn got his answer, they began chanting again, and Gojinn struggled, but was shot backwards, and woke up on the floor in the basement, with the dead, white eyes of the figure staring at him.

I know…………almost everything…………………but I still don’t know your name. Someday soon…perhaps.

He turned away and walked on up the stairs, breaking the spell again, and re-casting it, making it doubly enforced now, after the display of strength he showed. If Gojinn could not combat his power, then how could he ever hope to work with him?….

Closed.
