Money and power always seem to go hand in hand.

"Are you okay?" Sheri asked Deadblood, sitting next to him in the back of a limo headed for CW Headquarters.

Deadblood didn't seem to be listening to her. Both of his title belts were over his shoulders, as usual, and a slight sweat had formed on his forehead.

Finally though, without looking over at her, he answered her with, "Of course I'm okay. Why wouldn't I be?"

"Oh geeze, I don't know!" she replied sarcastically. "You've only got... let's see... robots, vampires, and old friends trying to end your life, all while you're trying to win every match you're in so you don't lose those shiny belts. I just can't imagine why you might be feeling even a little stressed!"

"Are you sure you're not the one who's stressed?" he asked, finally looking over at her.

"Of course I'm fucking stressed!" Sheri shouted in return. "I feel like I've been stressed since the day I decided to not fucking kill you! I can only imagine how stress free my life would be if I had followed through with my contract!"

Rolling his eyes, Deadblood then said, "Well, if it makes you feel any better, I'll probably be dead soon enough anyway. Then you can go back to being stress-free."

"Hey asshole, you forget that the company wants me dead too!" she replied. "So if you die, I get to deal with all the robots and anything else they send all by myself! But I guess you're right, I will be pretty stress-free once I'm dead too!"

Shaking his head in annoyance, Deadblood's thoughts drifted back to what he'd been focusing on before being interrupted by Sheri: the Absolute Undisputed Championship, the Undisputed Mortal Championship, and the never-ending mystery behind them. Their power and their connection to him had been growing even stronger. The power of the Absolute title was quite obvious to him. It had continued to expand his own personal line-up of powers. He'd become quite skilled at utilizing some of them too, particularly the crimson light and the telekinesis. With the telekinesis, he could definitely understand how Gojinn had survived for so long with it. Once you figured it out, it felt like there was limitless potential.

But then there was the Mortal title. The stranger of the two titles, mainly because of its less obvious effects. Yet in a way, it almost felt like the stronger of the two, as if it was gripping his very soul and forcing him to change in ways he wasn't so sure he wanted to change into. It wasn't just a personality change though. It was much deeper than that. The dreams he'd had ever since winning the Mortal title had him convinced that it was deeper. He felt certain that those dreams weren't just a coincidence either. Dreams of ultimate power, of ruling the world in a way no one ever had before, forever the Absolute Undisputed Champion and Undisputed Mortal Champion.

When the limo finally arrived at CW Headquarters, the driver got out to open the back door.

"Coming in with me?" Deadblood asked Sheri.

"No thanks, I'll wait here," she answered. She then added, "I know you feel some kind of devotion to CW, but your boss kind of gives me the creeps."

"Suit yourself," Deadblood said before stepping out of the limo.

Looking up at the building before, his eyes focusing on the top floor, where Alexander Arcane's office was located, he then entered through the glass doors into the lobby and headed for the elevators.
