Charon wasn't asleep, she rarely slept anyway and it was most often during daylight hours, somehow they always felt safer. She grabbed the handset and barked a quick "what do you want?" into the receiver. She listened intently as one of Spade's people garbled a panicked message and virtually screamed at her that she must come over and see him. She was in two minds, on one hand Spade was at the end of the day family but on the other he was an underhanded piece of crap who was about to face her in a somewhat gruesome match up. She mulled it over, curiousity always got the better of her, besides it might cheer her up to see him in a bit of a state.
Half an hour later she was stood at the front door of Spade's house, one of his aide's almost pulled her in through the front door and ran up the stairs. Charon was in no mood to run anywhere and ascended the stairs at her own leisurely pace despite the aide running back and forth beckoning her to hurry. She finally reached the door he had been running in and out of and stepped across the threshold.
It took her a couple of seconds before she realised that the sweat soaked figure that was bleeding all over the place from self mutilation was Spade. He seemed somehow, small, in the mounds of bedclothes. She stared at him for some time before he seemed to realise someone else was there and he lifted his head to stare back at her. She spoke first.

"Whats so damned bloody important, that you drag me here at..."

She lifted her wrist to check her watch.

"...two fucking thrity in the morning?!"

In the back of her mind, she thought she might know why. Damien had already told her the results of the DNA test she'd had done and Moebius and Augustus' DNA also didn't lie. She looked at the hunched figure and waited.
