Second Chances.

HOLY SHIT!

WAIT! CALM DOWN!

AHHHHH!!!

Gojinn sat up, his eyes watering, his body in incredible amounts of pain. He grasped at the tube in his mouth, and slowly pulled it from his throat, gagging as it slowly exited. Throwing it aside, he began pulling needles from his arms, and sticky pads from his head and chest. He felt entirely too weak, and right now, if it weren’t for his conscience, he would be snacking on the doctors and nurses cowering in his hospital room. He swung his legs off the bed, and tried standing, but collapsed almost immediately, stumbling atop a chair in the corner. This was a stupid idea, he suddenly thinks.

Again he tries to stand, but the pain in his body, and his weakness make it entirely too difficult. He looks to his human caretakers again, pondering what they might think of him. They must be wondering how he’s standing after…

What had happened?!

He remembered bits and pieces. Fists and feet flying, weapons striking flesh, water everywhere…the storm…

He slowly recalled having nearly killed Charon, but her fighting back. They had both gone to strike one another, there was a white flash, and then nothing. He had heard some sirens, but then it all went black. Had he been struck by the lightning in the storm!? That must have been it. His flesh was burned and in some places severely damaged. The doctors must have been scared shitless now. Someone standing after a lightning strike is rare, but fully functioning as if it hadn’t happened was entirely different. One of the doctors had snuck into a cabinet and pulled a syringe and small vial, while Gojinn simply looked at himself, and the beating he’d taken. The doctor rushed forward and tried to stab Gojinn with it, but with almost cat like reflexes, Gojinn’s hand had caught his, and then everything had gone black.

Don’t worry about them, I’ll handle this.

NOOO!!!!!!!

But we had a deal!!

To keep me alive- but I’d rather DIE, than let someone else control me ever again!!!!!!!

When his eyes opened again, all around him was white…

Two doctors and a nurse stood around him, in a small hospital room, somewhere. The lights slowly got dimmer as his eyes adjusted, and he could tell he was alive, and that everything that had happened must have been a dream.

My god, he’s alive. He’s awake!

A dream? No… He’d finally done what he needed to do. He’d fought the inner demons that had been plaguing him. At least for now. He knew he wasn’t human, he didn’t have much of a conscience, and killing would always be part of his life- yet, he’d always tried to stay… “good”. He didn’t understand it, and maybe he never would. Things had become entirely too confusing for himself at this point. Annoyed at the praises the doctors were suddenly giving each other, he again sat up, ripping the tubing from his body in a painful rage. The nurse screamed, and jumped back, as the doctors tried restraining him once more. He kicked one away towards a set of cabinets and a countertop, and spun his legs off the bed in the same direction, climbing off the table wearily, trying not to collapse under weakness. The other doctor ran around the bed and grasped his shoulders, trying to keep him from leaving. Gojinn simply turned, throwing a fast left elbow to his gut, and brought it up again, catching his jaw. The doctor was knocked out, and Gojinn pushed him hard enough he collapsed on the bed lightly. The nurse attempted to exit the room, but Gojinn kicked his foot out, slamming it shut again. The second doctor had grabbed a sedative of some kind, and now tried to inject Gojinn, but he wouldn’t have it.

Quickly grabbing the syringe, Gojinn turned, lightly pushing it into the pretty nurses arm. She gasped, and began to cry for a moment, but Gojinn removed the needle, still holding the other doctor at bay by his arm, and lightly guided the nurse to the floor, as she slowly went into a sleep. He turned back to the other doctor quickly, using the doctors own arm to punch him in the face, and then pulled him close, head-butting him. The old doctor was out like a light, and Gojinn caught him, putting him into the chair in the corner. Now that he’d taken care of them, he was unsure of what to do. He had to escape, yet- he couldn’t just walk out, and he was far too weak to try jumping from the window and fleeing.

He looked outside, and noticed that a rooftop wasn’t far below him luckily. He grabbed the doctors coat and threw it on, noticing the breeze and light rain in the cold night. Grinning, he felt free again, alive for once- with a second chance at life. He grabbed a nearby night stand, nice and light, but sturdy, and pitched it through the huge window, watching with satisfaction as it crashed to the roof and exploded. A second later, nurses and doctors flooded the room, only to find three downed colleagues, and a white coat floating out the window, down, down, down onto the rooftop below…
