Charon could barely walk and half stumbled away from the battered and bloodied octagon. There was no warning it was going to happen, she had no idea where it came from but she arched backwards
in a violent manner. The pain seemed to come from nowhere, yet everywhere all at once, she began to slide sideways and the figure that had been lurking in the shadows watching, grabbed her and
lowered her carefully to the floor. Her eyes had rolled up into her head and she gritted her teeth, the pain simply wouldn’t subside and eventually the scream worked its way up slowly from a low
moan to an ear splitting screech and the figure yelled for paramedics. It was only then she recognised Gojinn’s voice but this couldn’t be right could it? Why would he help her? If only the excruciating
pain would stop, she felt as though every fibre in her body was being raked with red hot, razor sharp barbed wire. She started to convulse and her mind had started to shut down, she heard Gojinn yell
again but he seemed much further away this time.

Paramedics raced to where Charon was now having violent seizures, one held her on her side while the other readied an anti-seizure injection. The other medic had never seen a wrestler have seizures
after a match, even when they had pushed themselves to their very limit and he had concerns that there was an underlying problem but the priority was to get the seizures under control.
The man who’d called them over had now disappeared back into the shadows. The second paramedic administered the injection and painfully slowly the seizures seemed to subside and
Charon’s body began to relax. The paramedic holding her on her side took out a small light to check her reactions and pulled up her right eyelid and shone it at her pupil, it closed down to a small black
pin prick. He glanced up to check where the second paramedic was with the stretcher while he pulled up her left eyelid to check the reaction of the pupil and he jumped away from the body as though
he’d received an electric shock. The second paramedic was back with the stretcher and looked at his colleague, who was staring down at Charon, who’s right eye had bizarrely stayed open and was
staring blankly into space, as though she could see something that everyone else couldn’t. Her entire eye was now an inky black. They decided to sedate her to make sure she didn’t wake up,
neither one had seen anything like it and as they were lifting the stretcher into the back of the ambulance, Kizmat arrived. He recognised the form lying on the stretcher and yelled in anger,
he pulled the paramedics out of the way, he stopped dead when he saw the odd, black eye. He turned to the paramedics who were once again looking at each other, almost knowing what they were
about to be asked.

“What the fuck is going on? Why’s her eye look like that?”

All the paramedics could do was shrug.

“She had some sort of seizures after the match, we went to check pupil reaction and the eye was already like that. We suspect there may be some sort of brain damage but that’ll be for the emergency
doctors to decide.”

“Sorry.” Added the second paramedic impotently.

Kizmat felt lost for the first time in his life, the eye disturbed him, a distant memory was niggling him but he couldn’t remember, he knew it was important. He grabbed his cell phone and called Kali,
he knew the two had a strong connection and the only one who he could now rely on to give him the truth. Kali picked up immediately, she’d known something was wrong minutes ago and she had reached out to Charon but was unable to connect, the pain was too much and then she’d had an odd flash of scrolling numbers like the screens from the Matrix film.

Charon on the other hand, could hear Kizmat’s voice but she could also see something else and hear a separate set of commands. It felt as though she had two separate people in her head,
she had one person telling her to get up and make her way to a specific location but the other person, she thought it might be her subconscious questioning the commands. Eventually the heavy
sedation took its toll and all she could see was –
