Charon was no longer paying attention to Spade, she was thinking and doing it very quickly as pieces slotted into place.

"Break the mirror, I need to break the mirror......KOD is the mirror? Maybe, possibly, not sure actually. Jellybeans?"

Her attention was suddenly back on the present, Spade was frowning at her.

"Why do you never make any sense?"

Charon looked around at all the different versions of Spade and grinned.

"Because if I ever started to make sense to you, you'd be in the true afterlife and I'd be your ferryman. Right as interesting. This little meeting has been, I need to get back and do a little bit of digging...."

The different Spades looked at her oddly, she smiled at them.

"Right, I'm off. I will be back though, I promise and in the meantime remember the promise you made to me and the pact that we now share."

Charon ignored the confused glances, the message had been delivered and she now concentrated on bringing her breathing back to it's normal speed and rhythm. She stood next to the casket, the ghosts still hanging around, at least until she returned the ashes and slid the lid back into place. She looked around the warehouse and almost as an afterthought she picked up the crimson light gun and tucked it inside her jacket......
