Lord Mortious
Past Comes Back to Haunt
The Babeh slithered off... along with Seer running after it-- but Charon was still faced with the challenge of confronting Mortismere for the final time...
During the fiasco with the babeh- Zedek and Mortismere where sizing each other up- the tension could not be anymore potent and dangerous.... but before Zedek could seek his revenge- Mortismere manages to escape as a swarm of new druids rushed in as sacrifices to shield their Lord and Master!!! It was too late- Mortismere slips away from the commotion through a secret passageway in one of the large center columns in the throne room..... Zedek was furious and with just a wave of his hand- each and every single evil being which stood in his way fell to the ground and evaporated into dust. Only. Only Charon stood in that room with Zedek- she stared at him as if he just stupidly allowed the most dangerous Creature that ever stunk up our lives slip away!!!
Protesting to Zedek Charon Death: Are you thick? GET it together!!! I almost had him where I wanted him! DON'T interfere again otherwise, you'll be visiting Altimac with a few nailguns burrowed up your ass!
Zedek just stared at Charon.... he couldn't bring himself to hate her.... for the Holy Light infused into his being prevented any hatred or malice... only revenge. And Charon was not his purpose for revenge... Mortismere was.... but before he could say anything back to Charon- Charon noticed the very familiar insignia embedded into the center column- she quickly recalled in deep long and forgotten memories and with a short breaths of air she chanted the words needed to release the seal and it was done so-- a doorway opened up behind the column and it led up a steep and spiraling staircase. Charon tore off one sleeve of her leather jacket and tightened it around her wound on her arm- but as she looks around for Zedek... he was long gone. With a smile- Charon picked up her nailgun and her long black duffel bag and walked inside of the chamber and up the steps....
After some time, Charon finally reached the end of the stairs.....
With each step that Charon took, an odd music was heard. Once she reached the top- the music was very close by... and oddly, Charon recognized the music as a chime. She didn't know how she recognized the music- but Charon could also sense that Mortismere was responsible for it's playing..... After several moments Charon finally reached a large series of corridors which contained decrypt jail cells- it resembled an old asylum... Charon knew in her heart that she was here before and after each step that she took she was drawn to one particular cell which she entered briefly.
The cell was damp and dreary... no soul has entered this place for many years... but what was so unique... so special about this one particular place?.... Then Charon saw it- carved by what looked to be by human fingernails. On a stone wall was her name.... but written backward: HTAED NORAHC. This was the cell where Mortismere had kept her and her father contained in order to draw her into the never ending lost of hope that is the Unholy Darkness.
Suddenly- that chime ringed again. Charon left the cell and unsheathed her nailgun while cautiously traversed the hallway until she stopped in-front of a very large, very old double-stone door which was littered by ancient writing that she oddly felt familiar with. Charon could feel the Unholy Darkness in her bones and in her very soul.... this was the place where Darkspade was taken too as her substitute when she didn't accept the Unholy Darkness willingly.... the very place where her father's body was separated. And the chime, the chime of her mother's jewelry box- that is what was playing....
The scene shows an overview right above the door as Charon opens it by gently placing her hand on the knob.... and entered inside..... with Mortious watching impatiently inside.
