Gates to Nowhere and Everywhere
Ending of CreatureMania IX
Our heroes watch on as Dark Sincentius is devoured by the vortex into the fabled Gates of Apocalypse. The flash back then fades to a moment taken back countless ages ago... before the Death Family Temple incident... even before Sincentius became tainted by the Unholy Darkness.
The scene materializes - revealing the Unholy City of Xanderaz and the massive Temple of Mortis at it's nexus. As the scene swoops over the hurdles of columns and statues of Mortis- we witness a courtyard filled with men and women- humans and Creatures dressed in ceremonial black garbs... each of them were kneeling and praying to their false imprisoned God.... Mortismere.
This was The Black Order. A cult of the undying and unholy. However, as the sacrilegious act of praying to the Demon Lord wasn't enough... the cultists were cutting their flesh- soaking their flesh with their own black blood!!
Then, from the top of a temple roof... a man stood tall with a brilliant white robe and a long golden staff intertwined with gold and emeralds... at the tip of the staff bore the name of Altimac. The man was known as Sincentius... a direct descendent to Altimac and possessor of the Holy Light. Suddenly without notice... the scene now crossfades. By observing the time of day now darker.... we realize that time passed and the entire courtyard is in battle between Sincentius' Light Warriors and the Black Order. Sincentius is seen standing within inches from the massive double gilded doors to the Temple of Mortis.
The doors open wide and now the view switches to that of a bird's eye view... first starting from uphigh and the swiftly swooping ever so downward in a spiraling motion until we are now viewing the inner chamber in the perspective of Sincentius.
Eyes forward- Sincentius walks towards the gigantic gold statue of Mortis at the end of the room... but from either side elite Black Order guards come forward and challenge Sincentius to a fight. The view then changes to a 3rd person perspective and we witness the power of Sincentius as he flawlessly makes quick work eliminating his foes by swirling the staff- unleashing a tidal wave of positive energies and devouring the Creatures into a brilliant arclight.
"It is about time, you arrive. I hath been awaiting your return."
Everything changes with another flashback but now we are in 2011 when the Dark Sincentius was conversing with Lord Mortismere in the Castle of Mortis. The Dark Sincentius us shown, sitting, and meditating on the floor while Lord Mortis walks around him.....
MM: Tell me more about these, Gates of Apocalypse. How can these gates make any use for me.... you keep eluding me to the obvious... but I evoke your response, Sincentius. NOW!
The Dark Sincentius slowly and methodically opens his eyes... his entire body is fluttering with the conflict between the Unholy Darkness and the Holy Light..
".... Remember my Lord. The night I awoken you from your slumber and you gratified me with possibility I have never once before explored... namely, the Unholy Darkness [Mortismere nods slightly].
When one crosses the threshold of absolution the gates are revealed. Remember also, my Lord, when I spoketh of what exactly makes a creature a creature? [once again, Mortis nods].
Likewise, what happens when a creature dies? Do they have a soul? If they are eternal... isn't a paradox to say that they can die in the first place.
THIS is the key to everything... there are indeed, exactly, 3 gates. Each within their hallow walls resides a compartment for a specific purpose. One for good, one for evil. But there is one gate in particular which holds the most interest, and that my Lord is one I desire to open the most. For inside of the third and final Gate of the Apocalypse resides the power of the universe. Fate. With the doors swung open Revelations will be unleashed on this wretched world as the Bible fortold.... so as you can clearly see. The eradication of life on this planet is not and shall not be namely on the shoulders of just not mankind... but CreatureKind. I intend to destroy their existence."
