Darkspade had no idea where they were going and to be quite honest he wasn't sure they'd be alive long enough to find out. Charon's driving was erratic at best, Darkspade realised there was no actual word to describe it at its worst and he also remembered he still hadn't drawn up a last will and testament. Despite all that they arrived safely, although he still wasn't sure where 'here' was and they appeared to be in the middle of a business park full of units.

She gestured for him to follow her, she took out a set of keys and opened the door on one of the nondescript buildings. He followed her and then stopped as she flicked the lights on. Every wall was covered with clippings from newspapers and magazines, print outs from internet sites and handwritten notes. Darkspade found himself looking at every piece of information about Neo Earth, Lilith and the Limelight that Charon could find. This included her own observations, drawings and conclusions.

"You realise this is not a healthy interest you have?!"

Charon shrugged.

"It depends how desperate you are to get your children back I guess."

The way in which she looked at him made him realise the sentence had more than one meaning and he understood exactly what she was getting at. He wasn't sure how he should respond, so he felt it best to say nothing. Instead he looked round the walls, slowly approaching items of interest.

"How long have you been researching?"

She shrugged.

"Probably ten years or so, maybe longer. It started when Kizmat told me about Lilith. Its also how I got a handle on Evangelion so quickly. I'd already done most of the research, I just needed to work out a practical solution."

Darkspade nodded.

"Our biggest issue is access, how do we get into Neo Earth?"

Charon paced up and down, her clothes were still torn and covered in dust and debris from the explosion.

"The scientists have a base close by. I know this because they've been doing basic upgrades and sending them here to rob banks. One side effect I don't fully understand is that my own cybernetics and nanobots have been re-booted, it happened as soon as the other cyborg was within arms length. why rob banks though? Are they working alone or are they still in Liliths employ? If, as you suggest, they are playing me, how did they know I was going to that particular branch of that particular bank? I don't get it?"

Darkspade rubbed his chin, he wasn't used to being asked the questions, it was usually the other way round.

"This is all distracting you from the objective we want, which is access to Neo Earth."

Spade didn't have time to finish because a dishevelled Brandon burst through a door, stopped, looked at Darkspade and then continued as though he'd known he was there all along.

"MULLET!!"

Spade was now used to Brandons odd outbursts and merely raised one eyebrow as a question. Brandon ignored him, grabbed Charons arm, ignored the burned and torn clothes and dragged her from the room into a room which Spade could only describe as a cross between a mad scientists laboratory and a hackers wettest dream in the Universe. He'd never seen anything like it, in fact, he'd never smelt anything like it either. He stared at all the wires, tubes, screens, servers and other weird looking electronics he'd never seen before.

"What the hell is this place?!"

Brandon skipped the question and pulled Charon over to a monitor where he'd obviously been working for some time. He re-wound the video footage he'd been going through. Spade noticed there was an official CW logo spinning in one corner, he knew better than to ask.

"I was looking over the official footage shot at the temple, then I thought I'd look at the stuff they were gonna bin. Look!"

He pointed excitedly at the screen, Charon frowned obviously unable to see what he was almost wetting himself over but Darkspade, standing further back could see exactly what Brandon was so freaked about.

"Gunthers mullet. It absorbed a huge amount of energy leaving Gunther unharmed."

Charon stared at both of them as though they were insane.

"Gunther's wig?!! Thats the key to us getting into Neo Earth?! Now I know you're both cracked!!"

She stormed out of the room. Spade looked at Brandon.

"Shes had a long day, she'll get over it."
