Brandon bounded back down the steps to the basement, Darkspade had to admit he hadn't even noticed him go in the first place but nonetheless he was back, hair and all.

"Right. Technocracy have been monitoring some odd communications going between NSA and this Jones fella. Nothing dodgy, just odd. They said the times are all weird and the messages are so dull and inane that it makes it likely that they're some sort of coded message between the NSA and Jones. Wraith have been cleaning house after the run in with Sincentius but they pulled some strings here and there and theres only been whispers about this Jones but the whispers have been building, yet no one actually knows anything about him. That is all anyone could tell me. I think we are gonna have to go along with this guy and find out what he knows and if he knows anything."

Moebius nodded.

"He's obviously done his homework. He's studied us closely at some point and he knows that Charon wouldn't be able to resist the temptation, yet he sends the letter too late for her to get it. Maybe we're the ones he's really targeting, did you think of that?"

Darkspade shrugged. He never seemed to care much about anything.

"So? Whatever this letter is designed to do or not do, what it comes down to is the fact we need to get our asses moving and find out what this frigging weirdo wants and quick. Right, I'm bored now, come on lets go and find out what this religious nutcase wants."

He started up the basement steps, Brandon followed in his wake, followed slowly by Moebius who still appeared to be thinking. Brandon was now right behind Spade.

"'Ow do you know ee's a religious nutcase anyway?"

Spade stopped suddenly and Brandon ploughed into the back of him. Spade looked at him like he was quite insane.

"All these people who follow 'God' are nutcases, it stands to reason if your religious, you're a nutcase. Everyone knows there is no God, if there was then I wouldn't be like I am and Charon wouldn't be crackers, Angel wouldn't be being tortured by Drkside and Crimson wouldn't be lost somewhere. Not only that, your hair would look normal and there wouldn't be weirdo's like Jones strutting around pontificating about good and evil. Look around you, no one is ever truly good or truly evil....its all shades of grey my friend. It has been since the beginning of time. God is for humans who need to make sense of their surroundings and so they can take less responsibility for their decisions. If they make the wrong decision they can blame it on God and some higher purpose rather than accept that sometimes bad shit happens to good people and good shit happens to bad people. See now if Charon saw bad shit happen to someone good she'd drive up and fire a nail in the bad persons ass, thats how she works. Its simple and straight forward, it has nothing to do with good and evil. If that were the case what would that make Charon exactly? She can't be evil because she just injured a bad person but she can't be good because she just injured the bad person, the logic doesn't work does it? You really can't see why religious people are nutters now?!"

Brandon raised both eyebrows, he'd never heard so much come out of Spades mouth in one go but something had irked him about the religious side of things. Moebius stopped.

"Come on why have you two stopped?"

He pushed the two of them up to the top of the stairs.
