Nightmare?

In bed with Red, April's eyes suddenly snapped open and she sat up. She quickly realized that it was still nighttime, but she was wide awake, a strange mix of fear and excitement coursing through her body. She was confused, but she didn't stay that way for long, because when she started getting out of the bed against her will, she knew exactly what was going on. It was that time.

Red remained asleep, even as she quickly got dressed and stumbled around in the darkness looking for her scalpel. Once she found it, she headed downstairs, not having to worry about being spotted by any of his servants since there currently weren't any. As soon as she exited the mansion through the front door though, everything became a blur, or at least that's how it felt when she would remember it the next day.

The things she did remember though were:

To start, she stole one of Red's cars for her transportation. She hotwired it to get it started, something she was certain she wouldn't have been able to do under normal circumstances. What happened during the actual drive was unknown to her, but the next thing she did recall was stalking a woman who was out late walking her dog in the suburbs. As she silently moved in on the woman, April ducked behind bushes and other objects when she thought the woman might turn around and discover her. After just a couple minutes of this, she was right behind the woman, who was still oblivious to April's presence.

April: "Hey, you dropped this."

The woman spun around, both slightly startled and confused, only to receive the blade of the scalpel deep into her gut. Despite her dog being a large breed of dog, it wasn't hostile towards April at all and even sniffed at its master's intestines as they spilled out onto the sidewalk, before running off into the night, its leash dragging behind it. The woman slowly collapsed to the ground, now in complete shock, nothing but a few strange noises and a dripping of blood coming from her mouth. To ensure her death, April then slit the woman's throat. Although she was completely horrified at what she'd just done, April's legs started moving again, still against her will.

The next thing she remembered was being inside an unfamiliar house. Had she broken in? She had no idea. She did quickly realize that she now had a chainsaw in her hands though. Where the hell had it come from? Heading upstairs, she was frightened to think what she might do with the chainsaw, or be forced to do with it anyway. Pushing open a door that was already open a crack, she discovered a man laying in bed by himself. She'd never seen this man before in her life as far as she knew. Stepping up beside him, she began trying to start the chainsaw. The man awakened from the noise, but by the time he realized what was going on, it was too late. April had the chainsaw running and, revving it, swung it downward onto his chest, ripping through flesh, bones, and organs, sending a shower of blood all over the room, including onto herself, effectively ending the man's life.

Then, she was in another house, the chainsaw still in hand, turned off again for the moment. In this house, she also went directly to the bedroom, but she recognized the people laying in the bed this time. It was the chief of police and his wife. She'd seen both on TV before via the news. Why them though? While he was involved with investigating her murders, as well as Red's, she didn't hate the man, not for doing his job. Yet she started the chainsaw anyway, causing both of them to wake up of course.

She went after the chief's wife first, since she was the closest, decapitating her just as she started to scream, her scream being quickly reduced to a gurgling sound, blood sputtering out of her mouth and some splashing onto the chief's face from her neck. The chief was quicker to react than his wife, or at least quick enough so he didn't get offed while still in bed. Jumping to his feet, he ran towards the dresser, which his gun was sitting on top of.

April: "I don't think so!"

Charging at the chief, April rammed the chainsaw through his back, slamming him against the wall, the chainsaw itself popping out of his chest and even tearing into the wall a little bit. Blood splashed against both her and the wall. Pulling the chainsaw back out, the chief's body slumped to the flood.

And suddenly, she was back at the Red's mansion, in the front hall, on the floor, shivering, coated in the blood of her victims. It was dawn outside then, as indicated by the light outside.

Waking up, Red expected to find April laying next to him, still asleep. She wasn't though. He thought this was a little strange, as it was just a little past 7:00 AM and she tended to sleep a little later than he did, but he wasn't particularly worried, yet. Maybe she woke up and had trouble falling back asleep, so she went downstairs to watch TV or something instead. A much more sinister thought then entered his mind. It couldn't have been that though. He was certain he would've woken with another slit throat or possibly something even worse if it had been that.

Getting dressed, he headed downstairs. At the bottom of the stairs though, he realized that something was definitely wrong, as blood was smeared across the floor of the front hall. A lot of blood.

Red: "April...?"

Cautiously, he followed the trail of blood, wondering if he should go get a weapon before continuing, but his curiosity kept him going. And then, in his living room, he found April, huddled in the floor in front of the sofa, her head tilted down. Running over to her, he got down next to her, pulling her into his arms.

Red: "Are you okay?"

She slowly looked up at him, the blood on her face streaked from her tears.

April: "Sorry about the mess..."

Red: "Don't worry about the mess. Are you okay?"

For a moment, she didn't say anything and he wasn't sure she was going to, but then she did.

April: "No...I...did it again...killed...it's all...my fault..."

Red: "It's not your fault."

He held her tightly, her head now resting against his shoulder, getting blood and tears on it, in addition to the blood she'd already gotten on his clothes, although he paid no attention to any of it.

Red: "Come on, let's get you cleaned up."

She allowed him to pull her to her feet and he then led her out of the room to his shower. He let her wash herself while he took care of their bloodied clothes. He'd considered asking her who exactly she'd killed, but he figured that'd only make her cry more and besides, he was sure he'd hear all about it on the news soon enough.
