After Augustus had cut the link to the arena, he left open a feed from the arena to see what the reaction was. He shrunk away from the screen when he saw Mortismere, he looked uncertainly at Charon. Charon merely stared at the image of Mortismere and began to laugh.

"Make your own damned dinner Morty! God the guy really thinks I'm gonna come running. Like thats ever going to happen."

Augustus shifted nervously by the monitor and tugged at her sleeve. She looked at him.

"Charon who..uh...Moebius...what?"

Charon chuckled.

"Moebius was my son. I had to sacrifice him, it was a risk and I lost to Mortis and I lost Moebius as well but I can see more clearly now than I ever could before."

Augustus nodded, pretending he understood, he had no idea what she was on about. After all they were in the loony bin but Charon protected him from the other patients and the staff and everyone else seemed to be scared of her. She strutted around like she owned the place and in a sense he knew she did, the staff never bothered them and neither did the patients.
Charon still stared absentmindedly at the screen.

"Augustus, cut the feed from the arena. Its time we left. Pack your things its time I went home."

He did exactly as he was asked. Charons wedding band caught the light and he found himself staring at it again, he swore on occasions that the thing actually glowed and pulsed with some sort of energy. She wouldn't tell him where the ring had come from even though he had asked a couple of times. She turned and looked at him as though she knew what he was thinking.

"Augustus. Cut the feed. Don't concern yourself about the ring."

His head seemed to swirl with fog and he forgot what he was thinking about and cut the feed from the arena. Charon took him by the arm.

"Come now. Its time we left."
