I guess money CAN buy happiness.
Alexander left Deadblood with even more questions, but he decided to leave it alone, for the time being. Besides, maybe Alexander was right, maybe he should enjoy himself as champion. After all, he knew that it wouldn't last nearly as long as Alexander seemed to believe. Once he carried out his job, the Absolute Undisputed Championship would no longer be a factor. Just a souvenir, a memory, of the job he was there for.
Instead, Deadblood proceeded to say, "That's some thick glass. Ever actually found it to be useful?"
Of course, Deadblood had another thought in mind, one that he didn't dare bring up with Alexander. One revolving around the idea that bulletproof glass was only useful if you were on the side of the glass away from the bullets. Bringing the thought up with Alexander may very well affect his ability to carry out the job and as a result, get him in further trouble over his contract with the company. In trouble with Sheri.
Glancing down at the championship as he took another sip of champagne, Deadblood once again found himself admiring it. That was something else Alexander was right about. The belt was indeed special. And power? Deadblood could only imagine what else he might discover about the belt.
"The glass serves its purpose," Alexander answered, causing Deadblood to look back up from the championship. "Better to be safe than sorry."
"I can understand that," Deadblood responded, feeling as though it were almost time. "I guess that if I were in your position, I'd want to be safe too . . ."
