Just when you think you understand, something else happens.
Making their way down the path, further into the forest, both Red and Kizmat stayed on their guard, ready for anything else that might come at them. They could hear sounds in the distance, sounds of the wicked place's vile beasts, sounds of their howls and screams and screeches. None seemed to be nearby or getting closer though. Still no sign of Sincentius either.
When they finally did come across something other than dark forest itself, it wasn't what they expected. It was a werewolf, laying on the ground, but it seemed to be stuck in its cycle of transformation!! Fur would sprout out of its flesh as its body morphed, but immediately after, the fur would pull back in and its body would morph back into that of a man!! Over and over this occurred, Red and Kizmat watching the cycle several times before looking at each other.
"What the fuck's wrong with it?"
"It's this place. Things are changing."
"Yeah, no shit."
Moving on from the trapped werewolf, it wasn't long before they came across the next oddity: trees, still in the dirt they were growing out of, floating high above the rest of the ground!!! Beneath this floating island of trees, in the crater in the ground where the trees and dirt once were, was what seemed to be an endless void, clumps of dirt and rocks occasionally tumbling into it from the edges of the crater!!!!!
"Geeze, this place is ripping itself apart!"
Before Kizmat could respond, there was a rumbling sound and the ground began to split open, revealing more of the void, forcing Red and Kizmat to quickly back away to avoid falling in themselves!!!!!!!!
