Charon, Spade and Mortis did not know that the door to the manor was opened- they were back in the study where- Spade and Charon were shifting through the ancient pages of the Death Family Grimoire. As if a switch turned on inside of Spade's often surreal mind- he walks away from the book and stares blankly at the broken glass in the window that led to a void of darkness.
Spade Deathen: Guardians of the Gates of Apocalypse..... why does this sound so familiar? [turns to look at Charon]. Charon, were we told the truth? Did Brandon tell us everything he knew about these Gates?
Looks bewildered Charon Death: Why would he hold information back from us? He was there when Sincentius opened the Gate the first time. He was also there for the final battle! Why are we here in the Gates?
Spade Deathen: I think we've here because of Mortis' magic and we died. We used the archlight to destroy him; but his soul chains never detached even after his death and the Gates are trying to pull us a part and send us where we are judged to be. I just... I just feel like we've been lied too. Brandon told us that the trinity are the Unholy Darkness, Holy Light and Holy Darkness. We know through Sincentius that the only race able enough to hold all three powers was a creature of true blood. But now, there are Guardians to wrap our minds around to make this whole thing 10x more confusing!
Charon Death: I always thought that Brandon was a Guardian.
Spade Deathen: No. He is tasked to keep the Gates closed to avoid any premature tamperings... the Grimoire says a Guardian's sole purpose is to watch over the denizen of the Realms and tasked to open the Gates of Apocalypse for the dark day of judgement.
Charon Death: Awh!! I get it now. It's just another method to open the gates. I wonder if Sincentius knew....
Spade Deathen: No way to know that. But my guess is Sincentius withheld information on purpose... Maybe he wanted to be inside of the Gates all along? did we just give him what he wanted?
Charon Death: Well why would that matter. If he's inside of the Gates then, there's no way he can escape...
Charon and Spade: Unless.... he was also a Guardian!
