Derrick Scrivens
Down but Not Out
Scrivens slowly opened the file folder he'd just collected on CP-ZERO. The information inside was quite standard considering that it was for a cyborg. There were basic details such at the test subject's height, weight, and blood type. No name, just an ID number. Officially, they didn't exist, so of course they didn't have a name. Created in a lab with hundreds of others just like it at a time. Bred for any experiment a place like the company might see fit for it. Any education they'd received was done in the same lab they were created.
He flipped past several sheets of paper, containing details on the test subject's various surgeries under the company's ownership and tests that followed, including the live targets test. What a great day that had been. The first time he'd been able to show CP-ZERO's weapon in action and to show just how effective it was at hunting down a target no matter how many other people were around or how much the target tried to hide.
Going past even that, he finally found what he was actually looking for, which were the final few photos CP-ZERO managed to transmit back to the computer before its destruction.
There was some video saved too, of course. He'd yet to look at it, but he hoped it would offer a little more information on what happened during its last moments. Not that it really mattered much after the decision made in the meeting. If he wasn't going to be able to continue the Cybernetic Prototypes project, there wasn't much point in him looking over the photos or videos. Except that he couldn't just let it go. There had to be a way to reverse the decision.
Sitting back in chair, hands behind his head, it didn't take long for a name to surface to the top of his mind: Osamu Shizuka. He'd contacted Shizuka a few years back to take care of another problem. That problem had been a lot smaller, but similar measures had to be taken to solve it. If he could help Scrivens again, it would set him back on track with his plans for the Cybernetic Prototypes project.
With nothing else that could be done from his office for the time being, he closed the folder and carried it out with him to his car.
