Gathering Information

The next day, Scrivens arrived early to work again. Not for a meeting this time, but to start gathering information for Shizuka. He saw no reason to not get started. The sooner he could drop off everything for Shizuka, the sooner Shizuka could get started on his part.

Using the computer in his office, he was filtering through the many files he had access to on the company's servers. Some of the names he recognized. Others, not so much.

Eventually, he settled on the files belonging to Adler, Faust, Lombardi, and Walsh. He'd debated on whether he should add Lombardi to the list or not. The man wasn't particularly threatening to Scrivens career besides not siding with him in meetings. He could do no real damage with his apparent limited intellect. Scrivens simply couldn't stand him any longer. He couldn't stand to hear anymore of the stupid things that poured out of Lombardi's mouth every time Scrivens was around him.

The files contained everything Shizuka would need to know about the four. Their home addresses, their license plate numbers, ID photos taken by the company. Scrivens also added a few notes, like that Walsh went out to eat almost every night. He wanted to make the job as simple as he could for Shizuka. It wasn't that he doubted the man's abilities, far from it. He just wanted to ensure that the job would get done with as little mess as possible.

Once the files were printed off, he hid them in his desk drawer. It was unlikely that anyone would step into his office that day. Even his secretary rarely came in there, not that she was at her own desk often either. However, it might look pretty suspicious if someone saw files of other employees laying on his desk, especially if they happened to remember at a later date during possible police questioning. He wanted to take as few risks as possible.

After Scrivens left work later that day, he stopped by the bank to withdraw the money for Shizuka. Placing the money inside a briefcase along with the files, he found the abandoned gas station, hiding the briefcase behind it as instructed. He just hoped some kids or a homeless person didn't stumble upon it. During his previous experience with Shizuka, he'd left the money in a garbage can at a mall. That somehow seemed a little safer. People didn't usually dig through the trash in public place like that.

With a quick glance around to see if anyone was watching him, which there didn't seem to be as far as he could tell, he got back into his car to go home.
