The Figure stumbled down the cellar steps as his eyes adjusted to the dim light. Sincentius calmly walked behind him, another cigarette in hand.
"What does this have to do with my employer? Is this his office? the Figure asked once at the bottom of the steps.
Sincentius silently motioned for the Figure to step into the the next room of the basement. He did so and found Eddie on his knees in front of a large wine cask, taking a long drink straight from the spigot.
"Starting young. Smart kid," the Figure commented. "I started young too and just look at me! Successfully running my own mine!"
Ignoring the Figure's belief that his mine was a success, Sincentius was far more interested in something else. "So you are remembering. You remember drinking when you were young."
The Figure realized Sincentius was correct and analyzed why he said that. "Hmm. It's not really a specific memory. More just knowing that at some point during my own childhood, I started drinking."
As Eddie moved deeper into the basement, the Figure approached the cask, now in the mood to have some wine too. Before he could maneuver his mouth beneath the spigot, one of the brothers ran past, ignoring the Figure, clearly intent on following Eddie. It was Damien, the boy Eddie fought with in the previous memory.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Damien shouted from the next section of the basement. "You're not supposed to be down here!"
Stepping in the doorway for a better look, the Figure saw that Damien had Eddie backed up against a wall.
"Says who?" Eddie asked. "I'm allowed down here! Your mum never said I couldn't!"
"I say you can't, asshole!" Damien answered, bringing his face within inches of Eddie's face. "I don't want you down here! You know, maybe it's time someone taught you a lesson! All you do is march around here like you own the place while disrespecting me and my family!"
"Fuck you!" Eddie responded. "I can do what I want, when I want! If you don't like it, tough shit!"
Having had enough, Damien gripped Eddie by his arms and slung him across the floor, his body rolling across the stone when he landed towards another, dimmer chamber. Behind them, also ignoring the two strangers, Spade ran in, stopping just inside the room, watching as Damien dragged Eddie to his feet by his black hair.
