"What's wrong with him?" The Figure stared at Serin's hiding spot. "If he's in trouble out here, he should let the other boys help him. He's being foolish."
Ignoring what the Figure said, Sincentius said, "I think you're going to really enjoy this next part. You're about to see a master predator at work. Maybe it'll even knock loose some more of that memory of yours."
The Figure turned his head to watch as a large, imposing creature ran towards them. Stopping next to the Figure and Sincentius, barely needing to catch his breath, the creature instantly set his sights on the fallen tree trunk. Silently but swiftly, he moved to the tree trunk and easily lifted the chunk of rotten wood, throwing it at another nearby tree.
Screaming, Serin was on the run again as soon as his hiding spot was uncovered. The creature intentionally allowed for him to gain a small lead before continuing the chase.
"Who the hell was that?" the Figure asked, stepping in front of Sincentius. "Was that my employer?"
Before Sincentius could provide an answer, if he was going to, Spade and Eddie interrupted by finally catching up, stopping too.
Trying to catch his breath, Eddie shouted, "Serin! Where are you?!"
"That had to be him that screamed!" Spade said. "We're going to be in so much trouble if something happens to him out here!"
Knowing they had to continue deeper into the forest, the boys did so. Without warning, the Figure was forced to follow them, gliding through the air a couple feet above the ground. He looked to see that Sincentius was next to him, gliding along as well while calmly lighting yet another cigarette.
"Now where are we going?!"
Sincentius simply pointed forward towards Eddie and Spade, who were still running while shouting for Serin.
"Funny! Really, I'm glad dragging me through time and now through this stupid forest amuses you! Asshole!"
"Awww! After all this, you still don't trust me?" Sincentius asked.
The Figure couldn't tell if Sincentius was serious or not. Either way, his response was a simple, blunt, "No!"
