Spade halted suddenly as there was a loud banging coming from the front door of the manor. He swore as he bolted down the stairs and swung the door open violently. He stopped and stared, Charon stared back at him.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

She stared at him.

"We need to talk."

Spade said nothing but stood to one side, Charon walked in past him and stood in the hallway. He closed the door and then looked at her.

"Well?"

She was uncharacteristically quiet and seemed to be wrestling with some problem he could only guess at. She wouldn't look directly at him but instead turned and walked into the library. He followed and waited, she finally put down the book she was fiddling with.

"I want to know what happened in Neo-Earth. I want to know what that damned energy was because it wasn't from me."

Spade frowned. He wasn't keen on coincidence, Charon turns up without any warning after disappearing just as quickly and to ask about the unknown energy he'd just been pondering about himself. He didn't like it.

"I don't know, even if I did why would I share it with you? You disappear with no word about where you were going and then you turn up at MY house and demand stuff from me in MY own home?"

Charon glared at him.

"You have no idea what you're doing."

Spade stared at her in disbelief.

"I have no idea what I'm doing? Look at the state of you! What the hell is going on?"

Charon said nothing but stared at him.
