Oh I don't know, I can stay on mine for a pretty long time . . .

La Espina had no idea just how just how distrustful Deadblood could be. How the more drawn out that situation become, the more distrustful he became of La Espina and the cartel. How quickly Deadblood could leave La Espina in a bleeding out heap on the floor of that very hotel room. The company probably wouldn't appreciate any explaining they might have to do to any surviving clients or anyone related to the clients, but the only retaliation that Deadblood would really receive would be not receiving the rest of his money from the company for the job. La Espina had a lot more to lose if the situation turned bad than Deadblood or Sheri did.

Deadblood looked over at the two chairs that La Espina had nodded towards as he poured himself some more tequila. Though he saw no immediate harm in sitting in those chairs, he didn't think it would be wise to relax even slightly either. La Espina seemed unsurprised when he turned back around to find the two still standing there, still holding their bags tightly. Stepping closer, he looked both of them over again before smirking.

"I'd offer you two some tequila, but I'm guessing that you'll turn down that offer too."

Deadblood nodded before saying, "You're correct there. Now stop wasting our time. Where's the money?"

Giving Deadblood a small glare, La Espina finally set down his glass of tequila, still holding Deadblood's katana though.

His back still to Deadblood and Sheri, he then said, "It's too bad that you won't at least sit down. I was hoping to make this as easy as possible. But like typical Americans, you refuse to cooperate and do what's best for you."

"What's best for us?" Sheri questioned.

La Espina nodded, though not at her but to the four cartel members standing behind them. Two of them moved forward to aim their machine guns at Deadblood and Sheri and the other two grabbed the four gun bags, setting them on the bed as La Espina had wanted before.

Motioning towards the chairs with the katana, La Espina then said, "Sit. Now. Or I will cut both of your legs off." Looking Deadblood in the eyes, he added, "It'd be a shame to have to use your own sword on you. It looks like such a nice one too. Well-crafted. I think it will make a nice . . . how do you say . . . souvenir, for myself."

Deadblood and Sheri, though hesitant, did finally sit down in the two chairs, the two guns aimed at them doing a lot for urging them along. The two guards kept the guns trained on them even after they sat down, La Espina standing in the middle behind them while the other two guards brought out a couple pieces of rope.

Looking over at each other again, Deadblood and Sheri both had the same thing in mind, knowing now what must be done. What must be done before it was too late.
