Deadblood
True, but luck will only get you so far.

Before Deadblood could get the taxi actually moving forward, bullets began to rain down on them!!!!! Both he and Sheri ducked and he slammed his foot down on the gas pedal, launching the car down the road, dirt flying up around them as the tires dug into the unpaved road!!!! Glass showered the inside of the taxi, all of the windows shattering from the countless bullets!!! When the bullets did finally stop, Deadblood risked sitting back up, both so he didn't end up sending the taxi sailing off the road into the jungle and to look back towards the town, seeing La Espina and about a dozen cartel soldiers that he'd managed to get together, each one armed with an assault rifle, some on the roofs of buildings, others in the streets.
A moment later though, they began to move, La Espina angrily shouting orders to them as they headed to jeeps parked along the town's roads, La Espina climbing into one of the jeeps too. The jeeps then sped after the taxi. While Sheri and Deadblood had managed to get a small head start down the dirt road, they both knew that the jeeps would likely be able to catch up with them, much more appropriate vehicles for the muddy roads of Colombia than the taxi was.
They didn't get much further down the road when an explosion suddenly rocked the terrain, coming from the town!!! A quick look in the rear view mirror confirmed that it had been the bomb Deadblood left behind in the hotel room, smoke rising up in the air from the hotel. That quick look turned out to be a mistake though as Deadblood was forced to swerve as a jeep full of more cartel soldiers came along the road in the opposite direction, nearly crashing the taxi into a tree in the process!!! The driver of that jeep quickly turned around and began to follow the taxi too, the other jeeps catching up, closing in.
Even if they managed to make it to the airfield before the jeeps could get close enough to run them off the road, or worse, there was no way they'd be able to take off. The cartel's guns would tear the plane apart before it could even get off of the ground! Sheri and Deadblood would have to get the cartel off of the backs before they reached the airfield. It seemed like it was their only possible chance.
Going along a curve in the road, Deadblood suddenly pulled the taxi to a stop while they were briefly out of site of the jeeps. Sheri looked over at Deadblood, a look of shock and fear on her face.
"What are you doing?!" she questioned as she looked back for the jeeps that would be there at any second. "They're right behind us! They'll kill us!"
"Get out. I have a plan," was all that Deadblood said before getting out of the taxi himself and running off into the trees, Sheri doing the same, barely making it as the jeeps then arrived, coming to a stop behind the taxi, La Espina shouting commands at the cartel soldiers in Spanish.
The soldiers entered the trees, each one ready to shoot at any sign of Deadblood or Sheri. For a couple minutes, it was quiet as the soldiers trekked further into the jungle, La Espina among them, armed with a long-barreled revolver himself. As the soldiers became more and more spread out, that was when Deadblood and Sheri made their move.
Stepping out from behind one of the many large trees, Sheri crept up to a soldier, grabbing the sides of his head and quickly, before he could make a sound, she snapped his neck, dropping his body to the ground. Another soldier spotted this, but before he could say or do anything about it, Deadblood thrust his katana through the back of the soldier's neck, the sharp blade popping out of the front of his neck!!! The soldier dropped his gun, making a low gurgling noise as he weakly struggled, and then he too fell to the ground as Deadblood forced the blade out of the side of the guard's neck, sending a spray of blood through the air, nearly decapitating him, more blood gushing out of his neck, soaking into the soil!!!!!!!!
