Sheri Stull
I would have brought you a fruit basket or something, but you know...
Sheri couldn’t help but smirk just slightly, as the gravity of the situation continued to hit him. Now he seemed to be putting it all together, and she found herself again hoping he had a very good reason for his actions earlier.
Although Sheri never turned down a job, she also really didn’t want to carry this one out either. The whole drive over here she’d been wrestling with the decision she’d made to not just ambush him backstage, or catch him while he was out celebrating his victory earlier in the evening. She had decided to give him the benefit of the doubt for the moment, but she wasn’t going to leave without either talking it out or...
Well, she hoped he decided to talk it out.
“It wasn’t too difficult, it was all right there in your file. Nice place, by the way. I helped myself to a drink while I was waiting, hope you don’t mind, “ Sheri nodded over to the can of soda on the coffee table. “And as for why I am here, well... The company also hooked me up with tickets to the event last night. What a show it was, too.” She gave him a pointed look. “Do you feel like explaining exactly what that was back there? Because I am pretty sure your contract, the one I came out to make sure you held your end up on, had nothing to do with what I just watched you do a few hours ago.”
Her eyes dropped back down to the katana he still held at the ready.
“You mind putting that away while we chat? I could do it for you of course, but I really don’t want it to have to come to that, and I don’t think you do either. The company did send me, but I chose to come to your apartment on my own. I didn’t have to, but I figured you deserved a chance to explain yourself.”
