A gift might have brought about friendlier business though.

Deadblood watched as Sheri took a swig of the beer, keeping thoughts of uninvited guests raiding his fridge to himself. He looked down at the title belt as Sheri mentioned it, still feeling that draw to it. It was more than just a 'shiny new title'. So much more. He could feel it.

Taking another sip of beer himself before looking back up at Sheri, Deadblood then said, "I'm more than just 'workin' on it'. Forgive me for not going into extreme detail. It's nothing personal, it's just how I work. The less you know, the better off you are. I will tell you though, my plan is in the works and the job should be completed in a few days."

Sheri shook her head before saying, "That's not good enough. I'm trying to give you a break here, but you're not making it very easy for me. What reason do I really have for not just doing my job right here and now? Because I'm certain that the company can easily find a replacement for your contract."

Sighing, Deadblood started to bring the bottle of beer back to his mouth, but before he could take another sip, Sheri gave another roll of her eyes, causing the bottle to pull right out of his hand and slam into the wall, shattering on impact, leaving beer on the wall and the rest falling to the carpet!!!! She had his full attention now.

She then started to say, "Look . . ."

Deadblood cut her off though with, "No, you look! You're just going to have to trust me on this! This guy is very private. I don't think anyone else with the company would have the opportunity I'll have. I have no doubt that anyone else would have to wait a lot more than a few days to carry out the contract!"

Deadblood looked over at his wall as beer dripped down it before turning his attention back to Sheri, hoping she'd finally be satisfied with what he had to say regarding the job and the contract.
