Maybe someone around here gave him lessons!
"Well someone isn't in the mood to socialize," Deadblood said, taking another sip of his beer. He then added, "You could at least take the time to enjoy your beer."
Sheri waited for the waitress to bring her beer before saying, "Do think we're playing a fucking game here? No I didn't come here to socialize. I can't even take a shower without keeping one eye over my shoulder."
She did take a sip of the beer, but it did nothing to help her relax or enjoy herself and she found it hard to believe that Deadblood was fully relaxed or fully enjoying himself either. He was enjoying his own ego and sarcasm maybe, but there was no way he didn't feel some of the fear that she felt. Fear of the company and fear of who or what they were going to send out after them.
"No, I don't think we're playing a game. Unlike you, however, I have faith in both my own skills and the power that comes with my 'shiny belt'. I know that whatever the company might send won't stand a chance against the combined force that you and I can be if we work together."
Sheri rolled her eyes at his mention of the championship, the shiny belt, and responded with, "You rely far too much on that title belt now. Do you even fully know how it works? Or have you just been lucky with it so far?"
"I know enough about how it works," he answered, finding her lack of faith in it despite already witnessing its power a little surprising. "The rest I'll figure out eventually."
"Oh that's reassuring," she said sarcastically, taking another sip of her beer as he did the same. "So how does that work anyway? As long as you are champion, you can use its power? What if you lose it at Creaturemania?"
Deadblood thought for a moment, trying to think of an easy way to explain it, before simply saying, "Something like that. And if I do lose it, then yes, that will be the end of the title belt's power for me, but I don't think that's something we should worry about right now. I'm sure that I can defeat whoever I'm facing at Creaturemania."
Sheri couldn't help letting out a laugh, glad that she didn't have any beer in her mouth at that moment, before saying, "I can't believe this! You don't even know who you're supposed to face? For someone who seems to know nothing about what's going on with their own life, you're pretty confident."
"Nice to know you can still laugh," Deadblood said. He then asked, "Have you thought anymore on my idea of you working as my valet at Creaturemania?"
