“You have a good point, I’ll give you that. I chose my new place based upon that idea, in fact.”

“What do you mean?” He asked. He knew from the little Sheri had told him that she’d relocated, but not to where.

“I decided to downsize and give apartment living a go. Harder to pull off something like burning my house down while I slept without it going unnoticed by someone that way.” Deadblood quirked an eyebrow at that. Was Sheri really that paranoid?

“I still think you overreacted a bit, but you do know that an apartment complex will burn just as well as a house would.”

“Of course it would, but as you said, safety in numbers. A lot harder to pull something like that off without anyone noticing, and even then what are the odds that out of dozens of units they manage to find and target only mine? Also, they had a deal where I got free cable and wifi. Hard to pass that up. I am downsizing after all.”

“You might be on the lam and all, but at least you’ll be fearing for your life while watching cable TV.” Deadblood smirked, finding her line of thinking almost laughable. What kind of person could be concerned enough about their safety to take things to an extreme and then pick a place for the amenities to a degree?


“Hah, exactly. Going back to Creaturemania, though. I know you said you don’t know who you will be facing, but any ideas? Something tells me it’s not just gonna be some guy that’s spent entirely too much time at the gym pumping iron or ‘Creature’ wouldn’t be in the name.” Sheri couldn’t help but chuckle slightly, the last beer having gone to her head a bit. “Zombies? Werewolves? Aliens? Someone who took a hard bump in a wreck and woke up from a coma with some sort of freaky powers? Give me some idea of what I’ve signed up for here agreeing to valet for you.”
