Charon openly laughed in his face.

"True power.....true power comes from within."

There was a weird shifting in the parking lot now as shadows began to waver and move. Dylious watched as his own shadow seemed to bend itself round towards Charon and as he looked round he saw that every shadow was now doing the same. He smiled evilly but kept her pinned where she was, in fact, he increased his pressure. Charons eyes had changed from icy blue to white and the pupils now resembled shadowy tornadoes.

As the pressure on her body increased so did the strange energy, Dylious watched curiously as his own shadow detached itself and seemingly was absorbed by Charon. Mortis began to backtrack slightly, he'd only seen this once before and right now he had no intention of being on the receiving end but Dylious hadn't, Mortis was torn. On one hand Dylious needed to be educated but on the other did he really need to experience this right now, right here?

He realised he'd debated with himself too long when his own shadow seemed to stroll casually off across the parking lot. Dylious could feel the power building but he grinned, so sure that his own power was far more superior than anything Charon might have. Alexander Arcane was smart enough to have hidden, he knew what was coming.

There was a strange, what can only be described as an almost anti-lightening bolt because it wasn't bright but it certainly made the hairs on the back of the neck stand on end. There was a crackling noise, pressure was building to phenomenal levels and then Dylious felt Charon herself shift - change. One second he was holding her pinned against the pillar, the next he was holding absolutely nothing. He looked round but realised he couldn't see anything except wavering shadows and they were absolutely everywhere.

"What is this.........?"

He wasn't completely sure how to finish the sentence as he'd never seen this before. As he watched the wavering shadows seemed to swirl into a huge central column, all the electric lights had now blown and sound had taken on a strangely thin, tinny quality. The column seemed to grow from the inside out, Mortis held onto one of the concrete pillars and Dylious was oddly fascinated as it started to spin at frightening speed.

There was an explosion of sorts, the column rose up and as it did it took on a terrifying form. It looked a bit like a dragon crossed with an angry demon, it had eyes but they were only impressions but they were definitely ice blue. It seemed to rear up, all it's focus on Dylious, it's mouth opened wide and an ear splitting roar seemed to roll across the parking lot at him. He didn't see it move because technically shadows don't move unless the light shifts but he felt it's clawed fingers take a grip round his throat.

The thing flung him across the parking lot, he hit one car and then bounced into another. The thing began smashing everything in it's path, although, you couldn't see what it was aiming for directly, you sort of had to look out the corner of your eye. It was actually taking random swipes at Mortis. Chunks of masonry were flying everywhere, Dylious scrambled to his feet battered and bruised but he was smart enough now to back away. He regrouped and shot dark energy at it, at the same time the thing aimed it's own energy.

Mortis and Dylious watched paralysed with curiosity as the two types of energy collided. There was a split second when nothing happened, then everything seemed to happen at once. Energy rolled outwards exploding with the force of a small nuclear bomb taking everything and everyone along with it in it's wake. Alexander felt himself lifted upwards, he had his eyes closed, and was flung backwards at terrifying speed he landed hard but not uncomfortably. He opened one eye to find Charon unconscious and bleeding right next to him, there was debris all round them but none where they were laying. He could hear a strange metallic clinking noise and realised that metal had been superheated and was now cooling off.

He grabbed Charon under the arms and dragged her away from the wall of debris, it was like a scene from a disaster movie, pipes were hissing steam, electrical cables were crackling uselessly from the what had been the ceiling of the underground parking lot. In fact, the fight had started outside but the force of the blast had carried them right into the underground part. It wasn't long before he heard the wail of sirens somewhere outside, he sat down and looked at the woman on the floor, he smiled. She'd caused this.
