The lights popped off suddenly, plunging the arena into what would have been pitch blackness had it not been for the emergency lighting creating an eerie orange glow above the entrances and exits.

Mist began spilling out onto the rampway and out from under the arena floor including from the pit underneath the ring. Mortismere stared hard, trying to make out any shape that had any kind of resemblance to Charon. Had he looked directly behind at that point he'd have seen Charon appear from a whirlwind of shadows that caused the very slightest of swirling in the mist.

The smallest twitch of her hand caused the lighting to come back up and all the mist disappeared in an instant. Mortismere turned suddenly and an evil grin spread across his face. Charon looked up slowly and regarded him with very little interest but she stared hard at him and knew with the cybernetics still in her body she could outstare a damned goldfish and they never blinked!

Mortismere was interested to see that she had done nothing to change the colour of her left eye back to blue.
