The lights are cut and even the eerie light of the poles and there dead bodies is extinguished. Charon took a long deep breath, inhaling the unique aroma of burning flesh and opened her eyes, totally focussed on the task in hand. She stepped through the curtain and the arena light grew to an eerie green with mist forming around Charon's feet, the only sound was of the wind whistling through an empty room.

She paid little attention to the cell with the bodies in it and didn't seem in the least bothered with Spades cheap parlour tricks. Good god how long would it take for it to sink into these stupid humans, once a body was dead it was simply empty, it didn't feel any more.

She mentally shook her head with incomprehension at people's morbid fascination with dead bodies being re-animated. OKay you could make dead bodies walk round but at the end of the day they were still empty vessels and you could chop their head's off and they didn't scream. Killing living people was a lot messier and noisier, a comforting mental image of herself firing nails through Spades eyeballs made her smile.

She finally reached ringside and noted that most paying audience members were either still throwing up or had vacated their seats to throw up elsewhere. Good it made things a little easier, plenty of empty chairs and impromptu weapons left behind. She wasn't fussy to be honest and she knew that Spade would probably try to throw her off in some way. Most likely something purile like the body that looks most like a relative would contain the belt or something along those lines.

The lights came back up fully and the mist disappeared in the glare. She stood and awaited her Uncle's entrance with little more than mild curiousity.
