My old lady couldn't afford to send me to college.... SO I GOT A JOB!

“It’s kind of funny, isn’t it? The last time we were in a hotel together, the situations were a bit reversed.” Sheri laughed, before giving a hard push with her mind to knock the disoriented Deadblood onto his back. The katana again wrenched in his grip, but he somehow managed to hold onto it, still dizzy and the beginnings of a terrible headache forming behind his eyes.

“Seriously, you fucking psycho bitch, what is wrong with me? What the fuck did you do to me?” Deadblood attempted to sit back up, only to be knocked flat again just as quickly. Sheri laughed again, daring to step a little closer, confident that she now had the upper hand.

“I didn’t do a damned thing to you, Champ. You did it to yourself.” Again the katana wrenched in his hand, this time breaking free despite his best efforts and skittering across the floor to Sheri’s feet. “Ever work out too hard and pay for it the next day? That’s what you’re looking at here. Of course, you aren’t gonna have the chance to improve with practice the way I have.” She bent down for the katana, picking it up and glaring at him, sending another effort to clamor to his feet back down without as much as a blink.

It was then he realized what was going on here. While he’d been able to co-opt her powers for the moment, they hadn’t come without a price. He remembered the Colombian job, and the way Sheri had been almost helpless after trashing out the hotel room and he’d had to practically drag her to her feet and out of danger afterwards until she could get her bearings back. The dizziness and nausea only seemed to increase by the moment, and the pain that had began as a dull throb behind his eyes also seemed to intensify.

“Sucks, doesn’t it? I would almost feel sorry for you, if the circumstances were a bit different. Honestly I really didn’t want to have to do this, I wouldn’t have bothered with coming by your place the other night otherwise. But you really gave me no choice here, Champ.” She stepped a bit closer again, still grasping the katana tightly, her eyes locked on him as she brought the blade down, hard.
