Red and Sincentius stood with their backs to each other as the vampires surrounded them, any initial distrust of each other very much forgotten, both knowing that they'd have to stick together if they wanted to get out of that situation alive.

The vampire previously impaled by Sincentius was the first one to charge from the pack of vampires. Sincentius again caught it with a hand around its throat, but this time, he chokeslammed it to the ground before bringing his foot down on the vampire's skull, completely crushing it! Dark blood splashed up onto Sincentius' leg, the blood having a putrid smell to it. Pulling his food away, it was revealed that what was left of the vampire's head was flattened lump of bleeding flesh and hair. The rest of the vampire's body twitched on the ground though, still far from dead.

"Shit . . . what are we going to do?! Red shouted as the vampires closed in even more, shoving a few of them back who got too close to comfort.

"The only thing we can do: fight!" Sincentius shouted back as he shoved a couple of the vampires back as well. "Fight until enough of them are down so we can run!"

Red didn't object to that plan, as it wasn't like he had anything better in mind. Grabbing a hold of the nearest vampire, he began to repeatedly smash his fist into its face, breaking its nose and cracking several of its teeth, more of that dark, putrid blood oozing out! Other vampires tried to leap on him, forcing him to knock them off of him before they could sink their fangs in! Dropping that vampire to the ground in a dazed heap, he grabbed the next one, giving it the same treatment before instead throwing it at the other vampires, knocking several more of them down in the process!!!

Meanwhile, Sincentius was working on another one himself, stomping on it on the ground as it tried to bite and claw at him! Each time he tried to stomp on that one's skull, it grabbed at his leg, causing him to miss his target. Before he could succeed, another one moved forever and grabbed his shoulders, leaning in for a bite, but before it could succeed, he grabbed it back and scoop slammed it on top of the other vampire on the ground!!!!

"Go, now!" Sincentius then shouted, he and Red slipping through a small gap they'd made in the circle of vampires, running from them and past some of the other creatures who'd been a little slower on attacking.

"There!" Red said as they ran, pointing towards a partially open grate that seemed to lead into a tunnel of some kind.

Heading through the brush towards the tunnel, they tried to pull back the grate only to jump back as a growling werewolf pushed the grate the rest of the way open. Almost instinctively, they then charged forward, grabbing the werewolf, and sending it flying backwards into the grate, cracking the back of its skull of the metal!! The werewolf dazed, they then stepped into the tunnel themselves, pulling the grate closed behind them, though it was still loose and it wouldn't take much to reopen it.

Peering out of the grate, Richard was nowhere in sight. They didn't know if he'd been brought into the tunnel too or if he was elsewhere. While it was calmer in the tunnel than outside of it, the horde of vampires closing in on the tunnel, they could here movement somewhere deep in the tunnel, indicating that they weren't alone there either.
