I thought you said if we destroyed the brain, it'd die!

Deadblood tailed the speeding Cadillac through town, keeping just enough distance between them to give them a false sense of security. His trick must have worked, because after a couple of blocks the erractic driving designed to lose a following car became more smooth and purposeful.

They still hung back, intent on finding out just where the Cadillac was heading to before making a decision on what to do next. Before too long, the Cadillac turned up to a gated entrance leading to a long, lit up driveway on a hill that led to what could only be a mansion.

Deadblood pulled the motorcyle over, as he and Sheri watched the driver input a code into a keypad mounted on a post beside the huge wrought iron fence, the gate immediately swinging open for the Cadillac.

“Wow. Can’t say I was expecting digs like that,” Sheri whistled. “That guy seemed awfully thuggish to be headed to a house that had to cost several million dollars.”

“Maybe it belongs to a fast food tycoon. You can smell fried chicken, cheeseburgers and pizza from all the way over here.” Deadblood wrinkled his nose. He didn’t care much for fast food.

“Why would a filthy rich fast food tycoon be hanging around near a sleazy motel like that, though? Something doesn’t seem right about it...” Sheri replied, as they watched the Cadillac coasting all the way up the very long driveway.

“Who knows. If there is one thing I’ve learned over the years though, it’s that business men are not always squeaky clean. Lots of shady people where you’d least expect them to be. It’s not impossible for a fried chicken magnate to also be involved in dirty dealings on the side.” Deadblood countered. Sheri shrugged.

“Well, then at least we can agree that something shifty just went down. What do you want to do?” She asked, as the Cadillac finally disappeared from view.

“I think we should head back home for now. No sense in going off half-cocked without more information. It’s not like a mansion like that is going to suddenly disappear overnight. We know where they are, and that’s enough for now.” Deadblood answered, turned the bike around and starting off back down the street.

“You’re probably right, Champ. A place like that is going to have tremendous security measures set up.” Sheri took a last glance back towards the huge mansion, also wrinkling her nose up at the smell of fast food grease that hung heavy in the air surrounding the place. Fast food magnate or not, surely whoever owned that place should do something about that awful smell.
