“That was close,” Sheri said, as they continued on past the now mercifully closed door. She wrinkled her nose, still catching a faint whiff of the filth from the other room. “Ugh, I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to burn these clothes once we are done here to get that smell out.”
“It was pretty bad, I’ll give you that. Think those guards had time to sound an alarm or something?” He asked, eyes scanning across the hall in anticipation of another attack.
“No clue, Champ. I think we caught them by surprise, but you can never be too careful. I’m just glad you didn’t decide to play around with that grapple gun back there. Could have ended very badly.”
Deadblood rolled his eyes at her remark, not even bothering to reply. Another, more ornate door loomed ahead.
“What do you think is in there? More fast food trash?” Sheri asked, Deadblood shrugging in response. She certainly hoped not, anyway. Deadblood reached for the brass door handle, and to his surprise it turned easily. His free hand went to his Desert Eagle automatically, and he opened the door just wide enough to peer inside.
There were no guards here, or anyone at all for that matter. The room was covered in full length mirrors, and scattered with what had to be enough shoes, wigs, and makeup to outfit an entire studio’s worth of adult film stars. Deadblood quirked an eyebrow.
Sheri peered over his shoulder, her eyes widening as she took in the sight. “Must be where his girls get ready. It looks like a dressing room in the back of a strip club or something.”
“See anything you like in there?” He teased, as Sheri scowled.
“You wouldn’t catch me dead in any of that trashy stuff. Is Staphany moonlighting as a personal stylist for hookers? Looks like stuff she’d wear.”
Deadblood smirked, about to add his own two cents when suddenly a door to the right swung open, revealing two rather sleazily dressed girls.
