What's wrong with your eyes?
This was perfect. For weeks, CR-0006 had tailed Deadblood and Sheri. They were rarely apart and when they were apart, it was never for more than a couple hours. They were close and careful. But not perfect.
For over twenty-four hours, Deadblood had been absent. Derrick Scrivens didn't know why. There hadn't been a fight between the two that he knew of. Deadblood had simply left the house and never returned.
Earlier, Scrivens had wished he'd sent CR-0006 to follow Deadblood instead of remaining at the house. He didn't have two cyborgs watching them as he felt that would only increases the chances of them being spotted, so he had to make a choice over who CR-0006 should stick with whenever Deadblood and Sheri weren't together. This however was working out better than he could have hoped.
"CR-0006, just keep watching," Scrivens said into the microphone connected to the cyborg's helmet. "If the other target reappears, return to observing from a distance."
CR-0006 didn't give an 'affirmative' like it usually did. It knew to not speak on its end when so close to a target. It simply remained outside the window, continuing to stare at the back of Sheri Stull's head.
Sheri eventually grew bored with Marcia and Cedric and changed channels until she found one playing a horror movie, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2. 1980s horror comedy at its finest. But it wasn't long before Sheri felt her eyes getting heavy, just as a peculiar yet amusing guy with an exposed metal plate in his head was rambling in the movie.
Noting how Sheri's body became limp, her head rolling to one side, CR-0006 made its move. Approaching the front door, a quick scan showing that no one was outside, no one was watching a small tool emerged from its finger that it pushed into the door's lock. Within seconds, the lock was picked and after a few more seconds, so was the deadbolt.
An armored hand grasping the door knob, it pushed the door open and stepped inside, making sure to shut the door so no gusts of winds caused it to bang around, possibly awakening its target. Being so much smaller and lighter than CP-ZERO, though still outweighing Sheri by quite a bit, it was able to silently move behind the sofa, standing over her.
On the TV, a woman started screaming as a chainsaw-wielding character suddenly burst through a wall. Though Sheri stirred slightly at the noise, she didn't awaken. Not wanting to risk any further noises possibly waking her, a long needle emerged from another finger. Swiftly, the needle was pushed into the side of her neck, unknown contents instantly pumping into her bloodstream.
Just as the needle was retracted, Sheri finally woke up. She stared up at the cyborg, immediately recognizing its face underneath the hoodie it wore to help disguise itself. At that point though, she was far too weak to do anything, physically or mentally, finding herself plunging not back into her dreams but into complete darkness.
