Deadblood (Undisputed Mortal Wrestling Champion)
At least Jack didn't have a chainsaw!
"So this came from a cyborg you said?" Wang said as he led Deadblood and Sheri through his main weapon storage area. They were quite familiar with the tables full of guns, explosives, and other, weapon-related toys. "Who'd you piss off to bring that down onto you?"
"Just an asshole with a personal grudge," DB said, eying the tables for any weapons Wang perhaps got in stock since their last visit.
"An asshole who needs to go away permanently," Sheri said, getting angry at the mere thought of her beat up car and more importantly, the house.
"If you need some more supplies to deal with that problem, you know where to find me," Wang said, unlocked and opening a door to a room DB and Sheri hadn't been in before. He flicked on a light and they could see in was a small room with just a few crates inside. "Got this recently. Real high tech shit. Our government would be in a real fucking panic if they found out any were missing. Lucky for us, they keep sloppy records and probably won't realize any are missing for a long time. Even then, whoever discovers it missing might be wise to keep their mouth shut. This is the kind of shit that could cost more than a job."
"If it's so god damn special, why are you keeping it in the janitor's closet?" Sheri asked as Wang opened the lid on the nearest crate.
"It's nice and discreet, not some fancy, obvious vault," Wang said with a wink before stepping away from the crate. "Besides, this whole place is more fortified than you might think."
"This is it?" DB asked, peering into the crate. "It looks more like a prop from a sci-fi movie than an actual working weapon."
"Looks can be deceiving, much like the flavors of an egg roll," Wang said, reaching in to pick up the weapon for himself. "May I present the LAD 18000. It's a small plasma cannon. This thing can puncture the armor of even the best tank on the field today. No reloading required. Its power cell will long outlive any of us. You just squeeze the trigger for five seconds to let it charge. Supposedly the most power plasma-based weapon to ever be designed. Just make sure whatever you're aiming it at when you let go of the trigger is something you intend to destroy. And be careful about using it too many times too fast. It does have a slight overheating problem."
"How 'slight'?" Sheri asked, raising an eyebrow.
"At best, you'll end up severely burning your palms," Wang said with a nervous laugh. "And at worst, it'll blow you and anyone else nearby into a pulp."
"Sounds fun. You can use it, Champ," Sheri said with a pat to his shoulder before stepping out of the room.
Deadblood still wasn't exactly convinced, bringing Wang to take them outside where some abandoned cars were. It was an area between his buildings so no one would see what they were up to. First Wang demonstrated, the resulting plasma bolt boring a hole through the front of a car before burning itself out. DB tried it next, creating two more similar holes. Even Sheri was impressed and decided to give the weapon a try.
They paid for the LAD 18000 with high hopes that it would serve as an equalizer for them when dealing with the cyborgs and perhaps on a more dangerous level, Red Spyder. DB declining all offers from Wang for egg rolls despite Sheri's insistence that he really enjoyed the egg rolls last time, they headed home.
DB entered the house with the plasma cannon drawn, but Red nor the cyborgs seemed to be lingering around.
"I guess at least they didn't tear the house up further after we escaped," Sheri said as they went through, checking the damage. "Looks like someone helped themselves to our food though."
DB looked at the kitchen table and realizing that most of the meatloaf was gone, said, "It was either some homeless person or Red." They both knew it was probably Red.
After placing tarps over the destroyed front door and shattered windows, they cleaned up the house some. They would look into getting the door and windows replaced first thing the next day. When they went to bed, the LAD went with them. If Red or the cyborgs came poking around again in the middle of the night, they were in for a big surprise.
