"I don't know why you seem to think I am the one who's going about it all wrong," Sheri snarked over the mashed potatoes. "None of your ideas have exactly panned out either, Champ." Deadblood groaned, spearing another bite of meatloaf rather forcefully.
"Look, Rose didn't prove to be anything more than a disturbing object lesson in Stockholm Syndrome," He shot back at her. "You wanted to jump out and warn her, and instead of catching Red in the act all we got was an earful of stuff I could have gone my whole life without hearing."
"Not like it mattered anyway. He apparently decided to take a night or two off." Sheri said, helping herself to another slice of meatloaf. "What do you want to do now?"
"I don't know. Part of me feels like we should just keep monitoring the scanners and news reports, but something else tells me he knows we were on his heels that night and he is just laying low and playing games. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he didn't purposely send us off on a wild goose chase."
"Rose was definitely wild. Seriously, that woman must not be playing with a full deck if her idea of a great evening is entertaining that psycho! And the look on her face when she was describing his--" Deadblood held a hand up to cut her short, shaking his head.
"Dammit Sheri, I'm trying to eat here! I'd rather not think about any of that right now!" Sheri shrugged, turning her attention back to her own dinner.
"Jeez Deadblood, I never took you for such a prude," She goaded, delicately slicing up another bite. "Who knows, maybe later we could maybe try a little bit of role playing..." Deadblood gave her a warning glare in return.
"If you really want me to pull out a chainsaw in the bedroom Sheri, I think we might need to have a long talk about reasonable expectations in this relationship."
"Ha, that'd be a first, Champ! No, I was thinking more on the lines of maybe tying you up this time..." Sheri grinned wickedly as Deadblood almost choked on his mashed potatoes. He was just about to protest as a loud knock suddenly interrupted their meal.
