Hornet's Nest, Part 4 - The Final Sting
Standing outside of Deadblood and Sheri's house, Red knocked on the door. It wasn't anywhere as near as hard of a knock from his previous visit to them. He almost started laughing as he thought about his previous visit, the knocking that started cracking the door before he finished it off with his chainsaw. He didn't though because the door opened, Deadblood peering around past Red.
"What?" Red said, sounding offended. "I told you I'm done with Scrivens! I want to kill that motherfucker as much as you do!"
"You can never be too careful," DB said, relaxing a little with no cyborgs in sight and Red not trying to kill him as soon as he opened the door.
"Well are you going to let me in or are we eating dinner right here?" Red asked.
The two stared for a moment before DB said, "Yeah, come in."
He stepped aside for Red. Willingly letting Red Spyder into his home was something Deadblood had never expected to do. The man was nasty in more ways than one. Yet after what occurred a couple nights prior at Camp Green Lake, the battle between them and Derrick Scrivens' cyborgs that left the summer camp resembling a place in the war-torn Middle East, they had no choice but to play nice with one another.
"Want anything to drink?" DB asked, though by the smell of Red's breath, he'd already had a few before arriving at their house.
"Yeah, sure," Red said, already gazing at DB and Sheri's furnishings. There hadn't been much time for that during his first visit. "None of that light shit though. Half the calories, half the flavor!"
DB wondered how Red would react if he was brought a light beer, if he'd even notice. He didn't want to test Red's patience before they even had a plan for dealing with Scrivens though.
He headed into the kitchen to get a couple beers and inform Sheri that their dinner guest had arrived.
