I don't want to get you drunk, but, ah, that's a very fine Chardonnay you're not drinking.
"Are you sure we need to bring Red along?" Sheri asked as Deadblood parked her car in front of Red's apartment. "We know where to go and you know he's going to bring up the other night."
"Yes, we have to," DB said. He'd lost count of how many times he'd had to answer that question from her. "Do you not remember how he handled the cyborgs at Camp Green Lake? I know he's far from pleasant to be around, but can you imagine how quickly we would have been rid of that first cyborg the company sent after us if we'd had Red on our side then? Plus, he hates Gojinn, so we wouldn't have had to deal with him for as long either."
"Or we could have just let Red and Gojinn kill each other," she said more to herself than to him. DB wasn't listening to her still anyway, watching as Red walked out of the apartment building, a big cooler in his hands and several cases of beer on top. "Oh great, he's going to get drunk and piss all over the back seat probably. You owe me a new car if he does, Champ."
"Dorsia, dear," Deadblood said as a reminder to keep her from going overboard with her dislike for Red. "Dorsia."
This did quiet her, but she refused to get out of the car even as DB did to greet Red.
"Geeze, did you bring any clothes?" DB asked, glancing around for a suitcase.
"Of course not!" Red said. "I figured if I need a change of underwear, I could just borrow a pair of yours!" DB just stared at Red, no clue how to respond. Red then laughed. "I'm kidding! Sort of, I guess. Do you care if I put this cooler in the backseat? It'll be easier than having to stop every ten minutes to get a fresh one from the trunk."
"Yeah, let's put the extra cases in the trunk though," DB said.
Red seemed hesitant to part with any of his beer, but he didn't stop DB from storing the cases with he and Sheri's suitcases. They then worked together to cram the big cooler into the backseat and to DB's amazement, Red seemed quite comfortable in the back too despite his large frame.
"How's it going, Sheri?" Red said as he cracked open the first beer of many. "Seen any good movies lately?"
