Tomorrow, Mr. Toomey. And don't rent out anymore rooms in this motel! Not any more.

Sheri grumbled under her breath about how Red had better not get any of his meatball sub on her seats, as he tore into the first one. Deadblood sighed hard, glancing down at the clock.

“I think I can go another few hours, but it’d be better to pull over then. Get some rest, and head back out early.” He said, trying his best to avoid looking into the rearview mirror. Red had no manners at the table, and the sight of him eating a sloppy meatball sub wasn’t something Deadblood really wanted to see.

“I could always drive if you’re tired or something,” Red chimed in, as Sheri shot him a poisonous look. “It’d be interesting to find out just how fast this Matchbox car can go!”

“Yeah right, like I’d let you drive my car! Even if you hadn’t drank half a case of beer already, there’s no way you are ever getting behind the wheel on my watch!” Sheri snapped over her shoulder as Red gave her an almost hurt look.

“Hey, I’m a great driver! I haven't been in an accident in a long time! And it’s not like I’m even drunk! I could finish that case and STILL drive better than Deadblood OR you.”

“Maybe better than Sheri, if it involved a highspeed chase...” Deadblood offered, as Sheri’s eyes widened and she turned back to him.

“I think you are both forgetting this is MY fucking car! Maybe you and your buddy can get out and see how good you two are at hitchhiking!”

“Gojinn’s car, you mean. And by the way, I can drive better than HIM too!” Red shot back.

“I think you might be better at running. Your mouth, especially!” Sheri yelled, about to come over the seat at him.

“I’m gonna pull over and get out and walk if you two don’t shut the fuck up, I swear!” Deadblood yelled, finally fed up with it all. “Even better. Motel. Right fucking there. I’m done for today.”

Deadblood pulled the car in sharply, putting it in park and quickly getting out to head for the office before Red or Sheri could protest. He was beyond ready for some peace and quiet, although at this rate he figured he might have to get his own single room to get any of that.

“Champ, this place is kinda rough looking, you sure you wanna stop here?” Sheri jogged up behind him, just as eager to get away from Red.
