SSheri rolled her eyes in response, as the waffle maker buzzed from the counter behind them. The lid flipped up, the hot waffle launching across the kitchen and landing with an unceremonious flop on Deadblood’s plate.



“You need me to pour the syrup for you too, Champ?” She asked, as he grinned lazily.



“No, because I know you’d probably wouldn’t stop with the waffles...” He replied, reaching for the syrup.



“That was ONE time, and don’t lie, you liked it.” She retorted, remotely pouring another cup of batter into the maker, and setting the lid down gently.



“I didn’t say I didn’t. Anything good on TV, you think?” Deadblood asked, taking a bite of waffle.



“Remote’s right there.” She replied, motioning over to the couch arm.



He shot her a look, before standing and starting over to the couch, when the TV flickered to life.



“Was that really necessary?” He asked, arching an eyebrow at her. She shrugged in response.



“Wouldn’t want you to wind up spoiled, Champ.”



Just as he was about to retort, the sitcom rerun currently on the screen flashed over to a news bulletin.



“Breaking news. United Metro Bank, touted as one of the most secure banks in the nation was hit early this morning in a daring heist that has left police and officials baffled.”



Sheri turned the volume up, their breakfast and bickering forgotten for the moment.



“While we do not have all the details in at the moment, police say that the heist was carried out by some sort of large drilling apparatus that entered through the south wall of the vault. Officials have not disclosed the amount of money taken from the vault, but are concerned that the suspect that Police are calling ‘The Driller’ may strike again.”
