"Uh... sure." Deadblood waited as the cop dug out his notepad and a pen. He quickly signed it and handed it back.
The officer looked down at the autograph with a big smile. "Next time there's a show here, do you think you could get me backstage? I'd love to meet Darkspade!"
He was sure Spade would be just so thrilled. Fortunately, before he was forced to answer the officer, his partner grabbed his arm to drag him towards the front door.
"Thank you, officers." Sheri followed after them to see them out.
"Thank you, ma'am. Hopefully this information will help with our other case." The officer opened the door, still dragging along his starstruck partner.
"What the hell were you thinking by calling them?" DB asked her as soon as the door shut.
"Well, you said the car went into a sinkhole, right? So I figured if they're never going to find it, I had to explain its disappearance somehow. That should keep your opponents distracted too." She walked back to the TV, the report on the bank robbery still going with live coverage.
"No, they won't find it. I just see no point in unnecessarily involving the police any further." He moved next to her to look at the TV too.
She ignored him, refusing to get into another argument, and instead walked over to the map with the red marker, placing a third 'X'. "Hmm... maybe there's a pattern to these robberies."
"How so?" Still standing in front of the TV, Deadblood turned his head to look at Sheri.
"So far, the robberies have taken place at banks on the outskirts of the city, going in a counter-clockwise direction. With that knowledge, maybe we can predict the next bank The Driller will hit." She was obviously proud of herself for having discovered the pattern and he had to admit, he was proud of her too.
Walking up to the map himself, he asked, "So what do you propose we do if we can figure out the next bank?"
