Whoa, whoa. You better watch what you say about my car. She's real sensitive.
“Shit! Cops!” Sheri yelled, eyes flickering back and forth from the rearview mirror to her partner. “You wanted to foil a bank robber, and now they think we’re the ones responsible!”
Sheri started to slow down, and pull the car over, ready to explain to the officers exactly why they were fleeing the scene of a bank robbery, when Deadblood slapped his hand down on the dashboard.
“Sheri! Go! What are you doing?!”
“I’m fucking pulling over, what does it look like I’m doing? We didn’t rob any bank, why should we run like we did?!” She shouted, as he shook his head furiously.
“You do realize that they’ll take us into custody, right? Even if just for a little while. IDs, bookings... don’t you think the company might find out about that?! For someone who’s so paranoid, I can’t believe you didn’t think of that.”
“Shit...” She groaned, realizing he was right. “Well, what do I do, then?”
“Fuck, I don’t know. Try to lose them,” Deadblood cursed, as the blinding red and blue lights fashed ever closer. “You’re the one who wanted to drive, so here’s your chance.”
Sheri muttered under her breath, obediantly flooring the gas pedal and swerving down a side street.
“Why did you turn this way? We’re in a residential neighborhood now. God, you’re terrible at this, Sheri!” Deadblood groaned, as she swerved around another corner, the sirens still well within ear shot.
“You want me to pull over and let you give it a go, Champ? I’m doing what you said, trying to lose them. How the hell can I do that on a highway?” Sheri replied, eyes settling on an apartment complex to the right. She could see several dumpsters out front, giving her an idea. She sent three flying, in quick succession to land in the road behind them, the impact setting off several car alarms in the process.
“More dumpsters?! Come on, Sheri...”
“Don’t knock what works, Champ! They’ll have a hard time getting around those. If they manage, well, we’ll just have to think of something else,” She replied, taking another corner a little too fast, the back tires skidding on the pavement.
