I always tell the truth. Even when I lie.

Sheri was in the bedroon, going through her shoe closet when she suddenly heard the news blasting from the TV in the living room. Wondering if there had been any updates on The Driller, she headed for the living room. Deadblood sat on the couch, watching with interest.

“Any news, Champ?” She asked, as he held up his hand for a moment, pointing at the screen.

“In the third shocking incident this week, police are saying the criminal they call ‘The Driller’ has now targeted First Orchard Bank. The robbery took place in the same manner as the first two, with the vault breached by a large, unknown piece of machinery. Police are also on the lookout for a late model black sports coupe that was seen fleeing the site of the second robbery yesterday evening. Police are urging anyone with information to step forward.”

Sheri rolled her eyes, recognizing the desciption of her car.

“Three banks now... He’s not going to stop anytime soon.”
Deadblood said, pointing over to the map he’d been marking with the location of the banks hit so far.

Sheri was about to say something, when a knock at the door cut her off.

“Turn that off, and come with me.” She whispered, as he gave her a confused look. He switched off the TV and went to the door with her.

She opened the door, bringing them face to face with two uniformed police officers. Deadblood was shocked. What in the world was she doing?

“Good evening Ma’am. We’re here to take your report about the missing car,” The first officer spoke, the second giving both her and Deadblood an incredulous look.

“Yes, I did, please, come in.”
Sheri ushered them in, and closed the door.

“Thank you for coming so quickly. We were out for a shopping trip yesterday, and came back and it was missing. We figured it was just a stunt, but I saw the reports about that drill guy and thought maybe I should go ahead and report it, just in case.”

The first cop nodded, taking out his paperwork to get the report as the second cop continued to stare, looking around the foyer of the house as if fascinated. Sheri raised an eyebrow, feining a polite smile.

“Never a bad idea to report a missing vehicle, ma’am. You did the right thing.” The second cop had yet to say a word, still looking around the house, at Deadblood, and Sheri, with wide eyes. “Kirby, come on now, knock it off. We’re just here to take the report. Don’t mind him. He’s just a bit starstruck.”

“Oh, it’s fine. We don’t mind.” She replied. The second cop finally spoke, motioning to Deadblood.

“You’re Deadblood, the Undisputed Mortal Wrestling Champion.“

He didn’t really know what to say to that, other than to nod.

“I am, yes.” He replied, feeling a bit awkward given the situation.

“You said you thought it might be connected to a publicity stunt, ma’am. Do you know who might be responsible for it? Your car sounds similar to the one involved in another case we’re working.” The other cop asked Sheri, ignoring his partner.

“I personally think it was that freaky vampire, or maybe that other guy, King Weirdo. Oh, maybe those dumb brothers who run the whole thing. Maybe the creepy one who wanted to get into my pants. Seems like something they’d do, really. I wasn’t even going to bother reporting it until all this other stuff happened. Figured it’d turn up at the next event, or something.” Sheri said to the first officer, who nodded with a bored look. He was obviously not a CW fan, unlike his partner.

“I bet it was King Gojinn,” Officer Kirby interjected quickly, as his partner groaned. “What? I’ve been following CW for a long time. King Gojinn is the obvious suspect here.” The other office gave him an annoyed look, finishing up his notes and handing Sheri his card.

“Okay, I think we’re done here for now. Thank you again for your report, Ma’am. If it turns up, we’ll be in touch. You can get a copy in 24 hours from the station, if you need it for insurance purposes. Come on, Kirby.“

“Wait, wait. Can I get an autograph, Deadblood?”
