Six feet under...it's so very hard to breathe.

“Do you think it’s really The Driller?” Sheri sounded somewhat skeptical, as Deadblood continued to follow the trail of cracking cement. “Surely he wouldn’t be so brazen to go rob another bank so soon after the first one.”

“Maybe he isn’t going to rob it straight away. He might be scouting out a path, to come back later. Maybe it’s a test run. I don’t know, I’m not a bank robber. But I’m sure it’s not just a quake. There's definitely something else going on here.” Deadblood replied, concentrating on the crack in the cement. It was getting harder to discern them now, and as the lot ended, the trail was gone.

“Fuck,” Deadblood muttered, turning the car around and heading for the street. “He’s either gone down deeper, or the ground is softer. I can’t see anything.”

“I can’t either. How bizarre. What banks are nearby here, do you know?” Sheri asked, craning her neck to watch the field. As Deadblood had said, there was no evidence of further activity out there. Perhaps he’d realized he was tunneling up too high, and had since corrected his course.

“I think Citicorp National might be just up the road. I’m not sure though. Never did any banking at that particular branch.” He answered, as she brought up the GPS on her phone.

“You’re right. It’s only a couple miles down Lancaster Avenue, on the left. You don’t really think it’s him, do you?” Sheri asked, still unable to believe any criminal would be brave enough to strike again so soon.

“Nothing wrong with swinging by the bank to see. Stranger things have happened. Besides, I need to use the ATM anyway. If it’s nothing, I’ll take out some cash and maybe we can go catch a movie if you want. If not, well... I guess we’ll be meeting The Driller.”
